There’s nothing quite like a vacation spent with family, and for Prince William and Duchess Catherine, the feat couldn’t ring any truer at the moment.
In an exciting update, it has been revealed the Cambridge family have touched down in Balmoral, Scotland, for a very special visit – and we’re likely going to see them in their element to boot!
Excitingly, some lucky onlookers managed to catch a glimpse of the royals as they arrived in Balmoral, where it is understood they will spend the weekend with the Queen.
In footage obtained by the MailOnline, the family are seen exiting the plane in Scotland, with William accompanying his elder children George and Charlotte as he carries their backpacks.
Meanwhile, the ever-stylish Kate is seen following behind with Prince Louis in her arms.
The Duchess was wearing a gorgeous jumper and midi skirt.
The flight into Aberdeen was also a commercial flight with FlyBe, with seats quoted at costing on average AUD $132.
It is a little unusual for royals to fly on commercial flights, with many prominent royals flying privately to their chosen destinations.
A passenger told MailOnline that the family kept things very low-key on the flight.
“The family were sat right at the front. I fly this route all the time and we were non the wiser. No one knew they were on the flight. Later on I realised that Kate’s mother was sat a few rows in front of me.”
The news comes following widespread reporting on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s choice to fly privately to Nice, France for a summer getaway earlier this month.
A number of celebrities came forward in support of the Sussexes, calling out the media reports slamming them for the decision as “bullying”.
Celebrities who spoke out in support included Elton John, who lent the pair his private jet, as well as Elton DeGeneres and singer Pink.
That being said, the Cambridge family will no doubt enjoy some time with the Queen over the coming days as she stays in Balmoral.
In fact, it’s likely we’ll catch a good glimpse of them on Sunday, as they travel to church via car.
Earlier this month, we saw several royal family members join the Queen for her routine Sunday service, with plenty of candid images showing the family members travelling together in cars.
It was also expected that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan would join the Queen at Balmoral at some point this month, however it’s not likely they will opt to visit this weekend due to a clash.
Prince Harry is indeed set to attend the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, so will be otherwise engaged until at least Saturday evening.
That’s not to say we won’t see the Sussexes and baby Archie visit Scotland at all – there is still time in August before most members of the royal family return to their usual duties in September.
Fingers crossed!
