Though he has been retired from official duties for a couple of years, Prince Philip is still a senior and much loved member of the royal family.
The Duke of Edinburgh turned 98 on June 10th and in those 98 years, he has lived quite the colourful life. With four children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, the Duke has been the ultimate family man all while supporting his loving wife, the Queen.
The Queen has previously said of her husband, “He is someone who doesn’t take easily to compliments. But he has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years, and I and his whole family, in this and many other countries, owe him a debt greater than he would ever claim or we shall ever know.”
Her Majesty isn’t the only one who admires the Duke of Edinburgh. In fact, tributes from all the royal accounts flooded in to celebrate his birthday featuring photos we had never even seen before.
