They’ve been through a lot together, but it appears that Prince William and Prince Harry are not as close as they once were.
The royal brothers will no longer be neighbours as Harry and wife Meghan make the move to their new residence, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, while William, Kate and their three children remain at Kensington Palace.
But royal aides and friends close to the Princes say that the move is due to a lot of underlying tension.
“Harry knows he will always be in William’s shadow and for many years he has felt like a bit of a spare wheel, dragging along behind his brother and Kate,” a friend revealed to The Express.
“Now he has a life of his own and a family of his own. It is perfectly natural to want to be more independent.”
However, the source adds it’s not all doom and gloom and this also signals a fresh start.
“This isn’t the end of a great relationship but the start of something new. Harry and William will always be close, but they don’t have to be twins.”

According to UK paper The Express, for a long time before Meghan was in the picture, Harry was the third wheel to his older brother and sister-in-law. But now that he is a married man and has a baby on the way, Harry’s priorities are very different.
“It’s now about his wife, his family. He’s not trying to please anyone else,” the friend revealed to the publication.
And it’s not just the brothers who aren’t seeing eye to eye – reports from The Daily Mail reveal that their respective wives are the real reason behind the royal rift and aren’t going to be friends any time soon.
“Kate and Meghan are very different people. They don’t really get on,” the source said.
A royal aide even hinted that Duchess Meghan is the royal equivalent of Yoko Ono saying, “Even The Beatles broke up eventually. The brothers aren’t children any more, they’re approaching middle age very fast.”
According to The Sun, Harry and Meghan were originally going to move from their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace into one of the main apartments.
“But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers,” the source revealed.

This isn’t the first time it’s been reported that Meghan has reportedly clashed with her sister-in-law Duchess Catherine.
“Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment,” a royal insider explained to The Sun.
“However, there’s a different degree of respect in the royal household and Kate has always been very careful about how she has acted around staff.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also made headlines when The Mail Online dropped a bombshell that the royal couple have lost three important staff members from their team since their wedding in May. This includes their private secretary Samantha Cohen who had worked with the royals for 17 years.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson also revealed some juicy insider information in Charles At Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes And Dreams, where an insider revealed that Harry had a pre-wedding meltdown and was “petulant and short-tempered” with members of staff in the lead up to his big day telling them, ‘What Meghan wants, she gets.’
