The Cambridge family’s Christmas card may have been adorable, but Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have taken it up a notch!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s annual Christmas card has been revealed, and it features the adorable family of three…in a GIF!
Taking to Twitter, the official page of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust of which Prince Harry is President and Duchess Meghan is Vice-President, shared their sweet family Christmas card.
Only unlike your traditional two-dimensional snaps, Harry and Meghan chose to go totally 21st century with a black and white GIF of the family-of-three sitting beneath a Christmas tree, baby Archie looking curiously into the camera.
“Just sharing the sweetest Christmas Card from our President and Vice-President, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Very Merry Christmas, everyone!” the post read.
Earlier in the month, E News reported that the Sussex family’s 2019 Christmas card was going to be a little bit left-of-field by including Duchess Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Whilst she may not be part of the photograph, Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card is a royal first as no other royals have sent a GIF to their nearest and dearest.
We always knew these two would do something non-traditional!
It seems a lot has changed since Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan released their last Christmas card.
In their 2018 snap, the couple shared a photograph of themselves at their wedding reception at Frogmore House, their hands locked together as they watch the fireworks together.
Since then, the couple have welcomed their son Archie, born in May this year, and undergone another royal tour, this time journeying to South Africa and simultaneously releasing their tell-all documentary, confessing the struggles they have faced as working royals.
Most recently, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan confirmed that the couple are spending the festive season in Canada.
“As has been reported, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private family time in Canada,” the statement read.
“The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both. The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family.”

With the Sussex family in Canada, this marks the first year that they will not be at Sandringham celebrating with the Queen and the rest of the royal family.
In 2017, the then Meghan Markle made history as the first non-royal to attend Christmas Day service with the family and just last year, Prince Harry and a pregnant Duchess Meghan walked to St Mary Magdalene’s Church with Prince William and Duchess Catherine.
