Ask any parent to-be and they’ll probably have a secret preference as to whether they want a son or a daughter.
Of course, the overall health of the baby is the most paramount thing but it’s always fun to speculate about the gender!
And it’s no different for first-time father in-the-making Prince Harry, who announced he and his wife Duchess Meghan are expecting their first child together a week ago.
On Sunday, the 34-year-old royal attended the road cycling event at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney for the Invictus Games when a spectator in the crowd called out to the Duke of Sussex: “Congratulations, I hope it’s a girl!”
To which Harry sweetly replied: “So do I!”

Boy or girl, Prince Harry is going to be an incredible father no matter the outcome.
Since touching down in Australia, Harry and Meghan delighted fans by not only officially announcing their baby news on our shores but also continually opening up about their “newest addition.”
Harry’s latest comments about wanting a daughter suggest the couple are yet to find out the gender of their bub.
A baby’s gender can usually be revealed around 12 weeks of pregnancy via an ultra sound.
The ultimate surprise: It’s believed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t found out the gender of their baby.
But perhaps the couple are going to follow in the footsteps of Harry’s older brother Prince William and wife Duchess Catherine, who reportedly didn’t find out the sex of all three of their children until the birth.
Last week, Prince Harry also hinted they didn’t know what they were having when he delivered his first keynote speech at Admiralty House.
“We’re both delighted to be here and really impressed to see you serving beer and tea at an afternoon reception, in true Aussie style. And we also genuinely couldn’t think of a better place to announce the upcoming baby, whether it’s a boy or a girl, so thank you very, very much,” he shared.

So, if they do have a little Princess – what will they call her?
According to Sportsbet, Diana is at the top of the betting for baby names at $9.00, a nod to Harry’s late mum.
The ever popular baby names Grace, Alexandra, Frances and Elizabeth are also on the top of the bookies’ list.
