It’s official: Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are parents to a healthy baby boy, and suffice to say we’re absolutely swooning!
The exciting news came after Sussex Royal, the pair’s official Instagram account, confirmed the Duchess of Sussex has welcomed a healthy baby boy weighing 3.2kgs at 0526hrs in the early hours on Monday, May 6th.
Sharing a picture announcing the exciting news, the statement read: “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.”
The statement continued: “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”
And if Harry’s adorable press conference was anything to go by, this giddy royal, who says his newborn bub is “to die for”, is going to be a natural father.
We’re confident the pair are going to make the best parents – it’s no secret Harry is a whiz with kids as is Meghan, and he’s been frank from the beginning about how keen he is to start a family with Meghan.
To celebrate the safe arrival of their son and as we eargerly await those first family photos, we thought we’d take a look back at all the swoon-worthy moments Prince Harry has proven he’s going to make the best dad ever, whether he’s pulling his trademark silly face for a baby, or cuddling up to a sick child (we’re not crying, you are!).

“Of course, I would love to have kids,” the royal has confessed.

Making funny faces at babies is Harry’s specialty.
It’s a bold move, but it usually pays off and is a hit with the tots!
Is it weird that we wish we were this child?
“I think the key to that is to grow up, but also to be able to stay in touch with your childhood side. If that means going to someone’s house and sitting there and playing PlayStation and kicking the ass of their son on or whatever it is, then I’ll try and do that. I’ve actually had a lot of practice for that,” he says of his godparent duties.
The Prince shares a tender moment with a chubby-cheeked baby in Nepal.
“I’m a godfather to quite a few of my friends’ [kids], actually only five or six,” he says.
Harry chats to Oliver Rooney (L), who has Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome, and his family who are receiving a garden make over from WellChild at their home in Bramley, Leeds.
“I’ve got a kid inside of me. I want to keep that. I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think,” the Prince muses.
“I can’t wait for the day [to be a dad]. It will be fantastic!”
