She’s known as Her Majesty to billions of people around the world, but to Prince George she is simply “Gan-Gan”.
In a new documentary filmed to mark the Queen’s upcoming 90th birthday, Kate opened up about the Queen’s relationship with her great-grandchildren.
“George, who’s only two-and-a-half, calls her ‘Gan-Gan’” Kate says. “She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay. That just shows, I think, her love for her family.”
Kate also revealed the monarch’s delight when Princess Charlotte was born last May.
“It’s very special having a little girl,” she said. “I feel very, very lucky that George got a little sister. The queen was really thrilled that [Charlotte] was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors.”
The Queen at 90 will air on March 27.
