If partaking in wedding bridal parties were a sport, Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be certified professionals.
Indeed the tricksy twosome, who are known to be quite the force of nature (of the comedic kind, of course) are once again donning their glad rags for yet another wedding, only this time it’s for someone quite unexpected.
The siblings acted as pageboy and bridesmaid for not only Harry and Meghan’s nuptials in May 2018, but also for Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2017, Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October, and for the wedding of one of Kate Middleton’s close friends in September last year.
If that’s not a solid resume of weddings, we’re not sure what is – George and Charlotte should be hired instantly where any bridal party is concerned!
And that seems to be exactly what’s happened.
In an exciting piece of royal news, The Sunday Times has revealed the young Cambridges will have roles in another wedding later this year.
The wedding will be that of Charlottes’ godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee and Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe, who incidentally happens to be the assistant head teacher at Thomas’s Clapham.
Who are Thomas van Straubenzee and Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe?
The Cambridges are known to be close with the soon-to-be-married couple.
In April, it was revealed Thomas and Lucy were in a serious relationship. Thomas is a close friend of William’s, with the royal having attended his first wedding to Lady Melissa Percy in 2013. The pair later divorced in 2016.
As for Thomas’ next wedding, it seems it won’t just be George and Charlotte with starring roles.
Sunday Times royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah also added that Prince William is set to serve as an usher.
You might have also heard of Thomas’ younger brother Charlie, who Harry served as best man for at his 2018 wedding to Daisy Jenks.
Tragically, Thomas and Charlie lost their brother Henry in a car accident when he was aged just 18. Both Meghan and Harry recently attended a charity carol service in memory of the teenager, according to Hello!.
At the poignant service in December, Meghan reportedly read a beautiful poem as a touching tribute.
Their ties to the family so clearly very close, there’s even a possibility that Charlie will serve as baby Archie’s godfather – a role that has been widely debated with a plethora of Meghan and Harry’s A-list friends also in the running to be their new son’s right-hand wing-man-and-woman.

And indeed Archie’s upcoming christening is set to be the next royal spectacle to take place, with the Cambridges and other members of the royal family expected to all be in attendance.
Whether George, Charlotte and even youngest sibling Louis will be there remains to be seen, but we’re certainly hoping for the trifecta!
That way, we mightn’t have to wait until Thomas and Lucy’s wedding to see more comedic antics from the ever-charming Cambridge kids!
