And as we inch closer and closer to the royal-adjacent event of the year, details of what is bound to be an unforgettable wedding dress are slowly leaking to the public.

While Pippa herself has kept quiet about the design and designer of the dress, a source close to celebrity fashion designer Giles Deacon, rumoured to be creating the special gown, tells E! News the design is “very simple, elegant and it’s all handmade.” Adding: “Very few people have seen the finished thing.”

Designing the gown hasn’t been without it’s hiccups though. It has been taken in five times since Pippa’s initial fitting, according to the source, as she’s slimmed down in the last six months in the lead up to the big day.

In other Pippa wedding news, a rather bizarre request from the bride-to-be has come to light: wedding guests have been asked to bring a second outfit to change into for the reception.

Daily Mail diarist Richard Eden recently took to Twitter to share this latest clue about the impending nuptials, writing: “Guests at #pippamiddleton’s wedding have been asked to take second outfit for reception. Is this a trend? Sounds like a bore to me.”

Whether or not the request holds any water, social media has gone into overdrive picking apart the spectacularly inconvenient ask:

“Where do they get changed?”

“Sounds a tad ridiculous and over the top. One fancy, expensive outfit should do it.”

“It already costs a fortune having a different outfit for every wedding…”

Of course, many brides chose to change into a second wedding dress for the reception — as Pippa’s older sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, did — but this is the first we’ve heard of guests being asked to mimic the trend.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who tied the knot in April 2011, changed into a second wedding gown for the evening celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

Previous reports also suggest that Pippa has applied a strict “no ring, no bring” policy to the wedding guest list — meaning no unmarried plus-ones — which would, of course, prevent Prince Harry’s long-time girlfriend, Meghan Markle, from attending the nuptials.

But an exception or slight bending of the rules has been allowed for the ‘princess-in-waiting.’

Meghan has been invited to attend the wedding reception, however, will continue to be barred from the actual ceremony.

While this may seem harsh, the unusual accommodation will be viewed as a significant show of support inside royal circles.

The brunette beauty has graciously accepted the offer and has already asked for a week of leave from filming her hit legal-drama Suits, Hello! Magazine reports.

The publication explains that the 35-year-old has requested to take off May 15 to 22, allowing her plenty of time to travel from her Toronto-base to the UK for the upcoming nuptials in Berkshire on May 20.

We can’t wait to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arm-in-arm!

Pippa’s wedding to financier James Matthews will be an intimate 150 guest affair with the reception expected to be held on the grounds of the Middleton Family’s Bucklebury home.

“There’s been a lot of speculation that Pippa would get married at her fiancé’s hunting lodge in Scotland or have a massive bash in London. But she’s a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home,” a source told The Sun.

“Her mum has been very involved in all the wedding planning and she wants to show off their house to all their friends,” the insider goes on.

“Plus, how can you compete with Kate, who got married at Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace?”

All the very best with the final preparations, Pippa!
