Meghan Markle played the fierce Rachel Zane in Netflix’s hit legal series Suits, and fans couldn’t get enough. In fact, just last year, the show experienced a wild resurgence in popularity.
While it originally ran from 2011 to 2019, last year in 2023, Suits was watched for a total of 57.7 billion minutes on Netflix.
“Isn’t that wild?” Markle said of Suits‘ resurgence at an event in November.
“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time,” she continued. “I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
The surge of interest around Suits has naturally opened up conversations about a potential Suits movie. And Meghan’s on-screen husband Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross, is hinting that we might see the pair onscreen again.
A MILLION THINGS
Responding to a fan question at ATX‘s Suits retrospective about potentially making the show into a movie, Patrick said. “It’s definitely something [creator Aaron Korsh] is interested in doing, trying to get the band back together.
“So it depends on a million things if that can happen, but is it possible? I think it is possible […] this band member is down.”
Dulé Hill, who played Alex Williams on the TV drama, also confirmed he’d be interested in reprising his role as well. But would the Duchess be as keen?
Hopefully, Meghan reprising her role as Rachel is one of the ‘million things’ that could happen.
After the Suits cast had a reunion at the 2024 Golden Globes, her comeback seemed less likely.
When asked if the Duchess was supposed to be a part of the reunion, her co-star, Gina Torres simply revealed that the cast is no longer in touch with her.
Speaking to Variety, “We don’t have her number. We just don’t. She’ll see, she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.”
