Could Meghan Markle and Prince Harry be any cuter?
We tend to think not, after the new parents made an unexpected joint appearance at a baseball game in London on Saturday.
Despite Meghan being on official maternity leave, the Sussexes were there to watch the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees play a game of baseball in support of the Invictus Foundation.
Suffice to say the game exceeded all our expectations – and not just because of the score!
While Archie was not with the new parents, it was clear new-mum- life is well and truly suiting the Duchess, who looked radiant in a Stella McCartney navy blue dress, which featured a wide belt at the waist.
She completed the look with chic Aquazzura Deneuve ballet flats and wore her hair in loose waves – a classically stunning look from the Duchess.
And indeed her appearance was a sight to behold, especially given we’ve only seen Meghan a handful of times since she gave birth to baby Archie.
The couple’s appearance was full of beautiful moments, including an unexpected run-in with a relative.
Yep, you read that right – as Meghan and Harry visited the Red Sox’s changing room, the Duchess was seen embracing player Mookie Betts, who told her he was a distant relative of hers!
The player tried to explain the connection by saying: “My great, great, great…”
Meghan reportedly then broke in by jokingly adding: “Great, great, great…”
According to Hello!, Mookie gave up and simply declared: “We’re family somehow!”
To which Harry then comically added: “Does anyone else here want to claim to be family?”
In another gorgeous moment, Meghan was gifted an adorable mini shirt especially for new baby Archie.
The Duchess looked utterly thrilled with the gift as she proudly held it up to show Prince Harry. A mini bat was also gifted to the couple.
Too cute!
After their colourful changing room exchanges with both teams, the couple settled in the stands to watch the game unfold – although for the most part, they seemed to have eyes only for each other – swoon!
The stunning engagement marked a break in Duchess Meghan’s maternity leave – it is expected she’ll officially be back at work during the British Autumn.
Meghan and Harry’s official Instagram page, @sussexroyal, shared some extra details following the special event.
“The @WeAreInvictusGames, of which His Royal Highness is Founding Patron, has been selected as charity partner for the [Major Baseball League] 2019 series.”
The post continued to explain: “The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’ – it embodies the fighting spirit of the competitors.
“As part of the partnership, the Invictus Games Foundation have a team participating in London’s #Softball60, the social softball series built for the city and targeted to introduce the sport to new audiences and demonstrate that it is an inclusive sport.”
