It’s the biggest sign yet that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to announce their engagement news before the year’s end, with a report fresh out of the UK revealing the loved-up duo have taken a very significant step in their romance.
According to The Daily Mail‘s Richard Kay, the pair enjoyed a low-key tea party with Queen Elizabeth on Thursday, October 12th last week.
While a cuppa with your boyfriend’s nan doesn’t sound like a big deal to us normal folk, in the royal realm it pretty much screams: “We’re getting married!”
The Mail report the catch-up at Buckingham Palace was “informal” and organised to “settle any nerves Meghan might have felt.”
It’s believed the meeting was held in the Queen’s private sitting room at around 5pm and Prince Philip was not in attendance.

“It is the Queen’s favourite part of the day and she loves it when her grandchildren are able to join her. She normally sits for half an hour eating from a selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and cake,” Kay revealed.
Before adding: “The Queen spent almost an hour with her grandson and the Los Angeles-born Meghan. Insiders say that Harry had spoken to his grandmother during the summer at Balmoral asking to introduce Meghan.”
And that’s not the only family member the Suits star has met with, with The Mail revealing Harry’s father Prince Charles was “very impressed” when he was introduced to the 36-year-old.
While Duchess Camilla reportedly mused to a staff member that Meghan was a “a very nice girl and very pleasant.”
Nice and pleasant, eh? Well, it’s not a rave review but for a royal that’s probably as animated as you’ll get!
Meanwhile, an insider has told the publication that their wedding news is 100% imminent.
“It is not a question of if but when,” the source claimed.
Come on you two, we are so ready!
