Just when we thought Prince Harry and Meghan Markle mania couldn’t get any hotter, the couple have dropped three incredibly beautiful portraits to celebrate their engagement and they’re the most glorious photos we’ve ever seen.
The intimate series of photographs were taken by renowned fashion snapper Alexi Lubomirski, who has previously shot the likes of Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts, earlier this week at Frogmore House, Windsor.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen to release this official portrait photograph to mark their engagement,” the official statement read.
In the first photo, Meghan, 36, and her prince, 33, lean towards one another on the steps outside of the estate.
The Suits beauty looks every inch a princess in a sheer dress by Australian designer Ralph & Russo, (rumoured to be worth a staggering $97,000, we might add) which features a black embellished top and tulle skirt, while the royal looks dapper in a navy suit and tie.
The next shot shows the couple in a close-up embrace, Harry beams at his bride as she gently touches his face with her enormous diamond sparkler on full display.
The couple add a layer of warmth for the close-up shot, with the prince in a Burberry coat and the former actress dressed in a cardigan by Victoria Beckham.
A few hours later, Kensington Palace gifted the world with a third and final photo to thank everyone for their messages of support.
Meghan and Harry, who are set to wed at St George’s chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19th, can be seen holding hands and laughing on the grounds of Frogmore House and it literally looks like something out of a fairytale.
“Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs,” the statement said.
“The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives. As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you.”
The talented man behind the lense, Alexi Lubomirski, also took to social media to share his excitement about photographing Meghan and Harry.
“A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms. Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits,” Alexi wrote.
“Not only was it an incredible honour, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took.
Keen to do things their own way, Meghan and Harry continue to throw out the royal rule book and just keep coming out with surprises.
“I’ve never seen imagery like it and they’re really breaking the mould this couple,” Camilla Tominey editor of Sunday Express in London told Today.
“[Meghan’s] outfit is quite sexy for a portrait that’s going to be forever in the annals of history.”
No other royal couple in recent history have ever shared engagement photos in such a candid yet intimate style like this but we are certainly not complaining.
Keep them coming we say!
