Just when we were starting to wonder when we might be lucky enough to clap eyes on the adorable Cambridge kids again, Duchess Catherine and Prince William surprise us by providing this stunning spectacle.
As the royal couple attended the pre-planned Kings Cup Regatta on August 8 (a day before it was scheduled to be held), the event itself was enough to satisfy our eyeballs with a royal extravaganza.
Both Kate and William competed in the charity tournament, with Kate competing on behalf of the Royal Foundation, while William competed for his patronage Child Bereavement UK.
But before we get into the nitty gritty of how the competitive race turned out (and who took home the wooden spoon!) we were in for a big surprise.
Stepping out on the cloudy Thursday afternoon in London, Kate and William looked happy and relaxed in casual attire.
Kate looked ultra chic wearing a bright striped Sandro top (a quirky take on going nautical!), which she paired with L.K.Bennett pants, and Superga sneakers.
Once the pair had officially launched the regatta, which was held in support of their royal patronages, the pair really got down to business, changing into sailing-appropriate attire.
Kate of course still managed to look completely chic in her while polo and grey shorts – and we can’t help but envy her holiday tan she’s clearly been working on!
During the charity regatta, the pair were joined by a number of other famous faces in support of it, including Olympic rower Helen Glover who was there in support of the Anna Freud Centre, stand-up comedian John Bishop who supported Action on Addiction and BBC presenter Katie Thistleton who represented Place2Be.
And while these guests were enough to have us riveted by the event every single minute, it was some other slightly smaller guests that got us very excited.
You guessed it – Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
The adorable pair were seen with their grandad and grandma Carole and Michael Middleton.
George looked utterly adorable in a nautical striped t-shirt, while Charlotte, who is looking so grown up these days, was wearing a sweet blue and white striped summer dress.
The sporty parents later joined their children following the exciting match. But perhaps Charlotte was a little unimpressed, as she was seen poking her tongue out to crowds instead of waving.
Each to their own!
As for the exciting race itself? The winner was … not Duchess Catherine!
In fact, in a comedic moment the usually poised royal put her head in her hands as she realised her team had come last, before being presented with a wooden spoon trophy for her efforts.
