Duchess Catherine and Prince William are bringing Christmas cheer to the UK by undertaking an historic tour of the county via a train.
Yes, that means more royal sightings in one go than we’ve seen probably for the entire year, more highly anticipated anecdotes from the Duke and Duchess about their young children and, of course, more glorious outfits from the Queen of Chic herself, Kate.
The Palace announced the exciting news over the weekend, revealing the pair would make several stops between Sunday 6th and Tuesday 8th December in England, Scotland and Wales (in line with government guidance amidst the COVID-19 pandemic).
In the statement, the Palace explained the trip aims to “celebrate community spirit and demonstrate the impact of the public’s generosity this year, by showcasing organisations and initiatives that have been supported by community relief funds, including NHS Charities Together.”
And in a sweet additional touch, it looks like the pair will travel in the exact train usually reserved for Her Majesty The Queen herself.
Known as the royal train, it dates back to 1840 and has been used by a number of Monarchs on numerous occasions.
But for Will and Kate, this will mark the very first time they’ve travelled on it together.
Interestingly, another royal family member has taken the train with the Queen once before – Duchess Meghan.
Indeed, in one of her very first royal engagements following her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan travelled to Cheshire with the Monarch in 2018.
So with that said, it’s certainly very exciting to know that Duchess Catherine and William will be next to enjoy the grand set-up of the regal train.
Bring on this tour we say, our anticipation for royal content is high as ever!
