Duchess Catherine and Prince William have plenty to smile about from isolation, and it all begins with some very happy baby news.
The pair are celebrating their close friends, Bear Maclean and Daisy Dickson, who have just welcomed a baby son, named Arlo.
You might recognise one of the new parents, Bear, who attended school with Prince William and attended his old friend’s royal wedding to Catherine back in 2011.
The baby news was revealed as per an announcement in the Sunday Times, which said baby Arlo was born on May 6 – an interesting date, as he shares a birthday with Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s one-year-old son, Archie.
While the UK remains in a state of lockdown, the news is undoubtedly welcome as the Duke and Duchess continue to self-isolate at their country home in Norfolk with the kids.
But just because they’re not physically out and about doesn’t mean they’re not finding other ways to stay front and centre of the spotlight.
In fact, over the weekend they had some more exciting news to share, and they did so in the best way we know how during these unusual times – a video call.
The pair helped to launch mental health charity Shout last year, and as the organisation marked its one-year milestone, the royals were there to celebrate it.
Duchess Catherine and Prince William were seen in a video chat with several of Shout’s volunteers, who provide round the clock support to those who need it simply by sending them a text.
Wills shared his admiration for the team’s work in the call, telling them: “You guys are the trailblazers, you have been doing a fantastic job keeping Shout moving forward.”
He continued: “Well done and thank you for all your hard work; we really appreciate it.”
Kate’s thanks also didn’t go unnoticed, especially given the fact she was wearing yet another chic at-home outfit.
The Duchess opted to wear a beautiful white scallop neck top, and accessorised with a beautiful set of Catherine Zoraida gold leaf earrings.
The weather is clearly warming up a little over there, as Kate was glowing with the early signs of a summery tan… guess there are worse places one could self isolate!

As the UK continues to battle the spread of COVID-19, it is likely tough restrictions will remain in place for a while longer yet, though things are looking to slowly ease in the coming months.
This means one thing only for one of Wills’ and Kate’s young brood – Princess Charlotte might well be the first to go back to school.
Indeed it was recently announced that schools would slowly begin to reopen in the coming months, beginning with year one and year six students.
Things are certainly happening in the Cambridge household, and it looks like they’ve got plenty to stay positive about.
