While Meghan Markle has been spending time out of the spotlight to nest with baby Archie, we’ve been seeing more of Kate and her family than ever before – with some speculating that this might not be a coincidence!
Indeed when Meghan and Harry marked their one-year anniversary on May 19, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a series of unseen images from their fairy tale day.
And while the Instagram post racked up almost seven million views in under a week, it didn’t take long for another royal couple to steal the spotlight.
Kate and Wills shared their own series of gorgeous family snaps at the Chelsea Flower Show just hours later, garnering the attention of millions of royal fans as they cooed over the rarely-seen Prince Louis!
“What you have is a couple not wanting to be overshadowed and a couple not wanting to be sidelined,” royal expert Camilla Tominey shared on UK show This Morning recently.
And while some say the clashing Instagram snaps could simply be down to a Palace diary disconnect, the previous whispers of a rift between the royal couples has led others to speculate that there could be more to it.
“Why would you release photographs that [the newspapers] all want to run? It seems like there’s a bit of a clash,” royal expert Camilla mused.
“I think this is going to be the problem moving forward.”
Kate and Meghan are constantly being compared on the world stage.
