You mightn’t think there could possibly be anything more Christmassy than watching Love Actually while wrapping presents, but Duchess Catherine and Prince William’s latest gig might just take the (fruit) cake.
Yep, in a revelation that’s sent us, and masses of others into a joyful meltdown, it has been announced the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be indulging in something extra festive this year, and it involves some serious baking.
Teaming up with famed British icon and Great British Bake Off royalty, Mary Berry, the two royals have filmed an appearance for the BBC’s A Berry Royal Christmas.
In the heavenly special, which was announced by Kensington Palace over the weekend, we can expect to see Kate and Wills partake in a number of heartwarming moments with Berry.
“The Duke, Duchess and Mary, along with some very special guests, including @nadiyajhussain, host a Christmas Party to thank and acknowledge staff and volunteers from charities and organisations who will be working tirelessly over the Christmas period,” the Palace shared.
We can also expect to see some footage of Kate and Mary when they attended the RHS Garden Wisley back in September, where they spoke about the royal’s commitment to helping raise the next generation of happy, healthy children.
William and Mary have also spent some time together to film the special, with the Palace confirming Wills will join the 84-year-old as they visit the UK’s largest resource centre for homeless and insecurely housed people, named Passage Charity.
Alongside the announcement, several gorgeous stills from the special were shared on Instagram.
In the first image, Kate is seen in a beautiful festive red Alessandra Rich dress, which featured a Chrissmassy print.
The flowing style is clinched at the waist and also includes a Kate-favourite touch – a pussy bow neck tie.
In a another image, Kate is seen speaking to several people on couches.
Wearing her enviable locks in their signature waves, Kate looked stunning in a fitted black jersey dress.
According to Hello!, Kate and Wills actually asked Mary Berry if they could arrange the collaboration in order to bring cheer to people who mightn’t be able to relax with their families over the festive season.
It’s understood the pair took part in a cooking event with Berry at London’s Rosewood Hotel, and served up a meal with Berry and Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.
