Duchess Catherine is a lot of things – mother, keen photographer, outdoor enthusiast and of course an unstoppable fashion influencer.
But there’s always room for more where the Duchess of Cambridge is concerned – and she’s just added another exciting addition to the list.
As she stepped out at Peterley Manor Farm on December 4, Kate Middleton kept things casual but chic in a bright red jacket, but it was the announcement of her brand new role that was the cherry on top of the (rather fashionable) pie.
Kate looked utterly Christmassy as she led children to pick out a Christmas tree.
(Image: Getty Images)Visiting the Buckinghamshire farm, it was fittingly announced that Duchess Kate has become the Royal Patron of Family Action.
The patronage is a particularly exciting one for the Queen-Consort-to-be, as it previously belonged to two other Queens.
Indeed Queen Elizabeth II has held the role for the past 65 years, which she had taken over from Queen Mary in 1953.
At the special family event, Kate embraced the festive season in a bright red puffer jacket, green jumper and jeans as she helped children make Christmas decorations and pick out a Christmas tree at the farm.
Wearing her bouncy brunette locks loose the Duchess of Cambridge was also heard complimenting eight-year-old Aleigha Law’s crimped hair, asking her: “How do you get it all wavy like that?”
The eight-year-old revealed that she slept with plaits in her hair overnight, to which Kate replied: “I might try that tonight, I hope my hair turns out like yours.”
Yep, once again the royal pulled off a full-blown fashion slam dunk – obsessed!

Founded in 1869, the organisation has an incredible history in helping families experiencing tough times, providing them with practical help and support.
Offering both local and national services to support vulnerable and disadvantaged families, the charity aims to tackle issues including financial hardship, mental health and emotional well being.
The royal mum-of-three proved once again how great she is with children.

Indeed much of the Duchess’s work is focused on ensuring as many young children as possible are equipped with the right environment and tools to receive the best education.
The Duchess also loves to bring her own passion for the outdoors to the forefront, with a lot of her work highlighting the importance of time spent outside for kids.

(Image: Getty Images)Speaking about Kate’s new patronage, chief executive of Family Action David Holmes said: “I have seen The Duchess’s passionate support for disadvantaged families first hand and have been impressed by her leadership in understanding and promoting the vital importance of the Early Years.”
He added his praise for Queen Elizabeth’s extensive work with the charity over the past 65 years.
“Everyone at Family Action would like to extend our thanks to Her Majesty for her steadfast support and encouragement to us,” he stated.

This new step is a particularly important one for Kate, and certainly seems to suggest the Queen is slowly starting to prepare her in becoming the Queen Consort of England.
We’ve really started to see the Duchess come into her own of late – on Tuesday, she attended a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen without her husband Prince William.
Indeed the 37-year-old Prince is currently visiting Kuwait and Oman on official royal duties, so Kate flew solo, and nailed the formal engagement in London on her own.
She and Wills also visited Pakistan at the start of October for a royal tour that was described as a huge success for the regal institution.
During the tour, the Duchess gave her very first television interview since becoming a royal, and her eloquence and confidence was noted by many (and you can view the interview for yourself in the player at the top of the story).
Now, with her important new patronage having been passed down from the Queen herself, it’s safe to say the Duchess of Cambridge is well on the way to becoming an admirable Queen Consort.
