Duchess Catherine is not one to make a scene in any sense of the phrase, but sometimes itโ€™s inevitable โ€“ even if it is just the simple act of driving.

Indeed, Kate Middleton was seen driving herself into Buckingham Palace on Thursday, sending fans into frenzy along her way.

But it was the reason for her unexpected visit at Buckingham Palace that really had people talking.

While the reason for the visit is unclear, it does come after multiple reports of a potential feud between her and sister-in-law Duchess Meghan.

Over the past few weeks, reports have claimed Meghan has been at the centre of a royal rift as she had Kate butt heads over her treatment of staff.

UK outlet The Sun claimed tension between the royal sisters-in-law reached boiling point when Kate cautioned Meghan over her strict behaviour towards her staff members, telling her: โ€œThatโ€™s unacceptable, theyโ€™re my staff and I speak to them.โ€

A source revealed to the publication: โ€œHer and Kate fell out when she b โ€“ โ€“ โ€“ d Kateโ€™s staff.โ€

The Palace was quick to shut down the report, releasing a rare statement saying: โ€œThis never happenedโ€.

But another shocking report also claimed that Meghan left her sister-in-law Kate Middleton extremely upset during a bridesmaid fitting ahead of her royal wedding in May.

According to a report from the UKโ€™s Telegraph, Catherine was reportedly left โ€œin tearsโ€ after her daughter, Princess Charlotteโ€™s bridesmaid dress fitting for the big event.

Now, The Sunday Times has reported that the Queen herself might be stepping in to calm the animosity between the two.

โ€œHer Majesty has seen it all and could offer the Duchess some helpful advice at the moment,โ€ an insider told the publication.

โ€œMeghan would do well to nurture that relationship and pop over for the occasional cup of tea with the Queen. That is what Sophie Wessex has quietly done so well.โ€

And going by Kateโ€™s unexpected visit to Buckingham Palace on Thursday, perhaps she is thinking the same.

Kate is certainly keeping herself busy in the lead up to Christmas Day. Earlier this week she and husband Prince William attended a very special visit to the Evelina London Childrenโ€™s Hospital.

The pair met young children who were receiving treatment in the hospital.

The visit was made all the more special when it was announced that Kate had been appointed as patron of the hospital.

Kate discussed her passion for supporting young children during the event.

โ€œItโ€™s a real privilege to be part of this organisation, and I look forward to many happy years ahead,โ€ she said.
