Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has arrived in Denmark for a rare solo tour and immediately delighted Danish locals with her usual relaxed charm.

The 40-year-old landed in Copenhagen on Tuesday, and threw herself into work straight away at the Lego Foundation PlayLab on Campus Carlsberg.

There she discovered how the organisation is โ€œre-defining play and re-imagining learningโ€, which ties into her ongoing work in the early years โ€“ which is also the theme of her tour.

As always, the Duchess was hands-on with her royal duties, agreeing to try out some of the PlayLab attractions, including a huge indoor slide.

She laughed and cried out as she shot down the tunnel, hands in the air, then joked to onlookers: โ€œIn the spirit of where I am, I had to do that.โ€

Afterwards, Catherine headed to the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Projectโ€™s ground-breaking โ€˜Understanding Your Baby Projectโ€™, where she immediately gravitated to the mothers and their babies.

The mum-of-three, who shares Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six and Prince Louis, three, with husband Prince William, confessed that seeing small children always makes her keen to expand her own family.

โ€œIt makes me very broody,โ€ she told onlookers during her time at the project, adding that her husband isnโ€™t so keen.

The event was held at Bรธrnemuseet Childrenโ€™s Museum at Frederiksberg and Catherine was the star of the show in a refined red blazer, ruffled blouse and chic black trousers.

It appears to be a modern take on a similar outfit Princess Diana wore in 1985 for an intimate family photo shoot at Kensington Palace with a young Prince William.

The Princess of Wales wore a knitted red cardigan paired with a white blouse and black slacks, accessorising with simple drop earrings.

In fact, they appear to be the same pearl earrings Catherine wore for her outing on Tuesday, one of the many pieces she inherited from the mother-in-law she sadly never knew.

While itโ€™s unlikely Catherine set out to recreate Dianaโ€™s 1985 outfit, she has been known to draw inspiration from the Princess of Wales, who revolutionised royal style in the โ€™80s and โ€™90s.

The Duchess of Cambridge has since made her own mark on the world of royal fashion, embracing more modern trends while maintaining her signature elegant style.

Recently sheโ€™s been stepping out in wide-leg trousers more often, indicating a shift away from the fitted pants she often wore in the 2010s.

Royal watchers are eager to see what other ensembles she has planned for her time in Denmark, during which she is set to meet up with another fashionable royal: Crown Princess Mary.

The two women will reunite during an engagement with a local project that works to protect vulnerable women and children from domestic violence.

We canโ€™t wait to see what the royals, who both champion sustainable fashion, wear for their meeting โ€“ but more importantly, weโ€™re eager to see what causes they will be promoting together.
