The Duchess of Cambridge is an undeniable force in all aspects of royal life.
Just a quick glance at the royal mum-of-three will tell you how her eloquent, poised nature and uncanny regal air (not to mention never having a hair out of place) makes her the perfect fit in Britain’s most elite fold.
But how does she do it? A woman who came from a middle class background, with a youth not unlike many other teenage and twenty somethings across the world (her ‘party days’ at least were relatable)?
The answer, it seems, is relatively simple – and it’s single-handedly giving her the ultimate prevalence in the age-old institution.
In a lengthy new report from Tatler, a number of sources have come forward to shed light on the ever-enchanting Duchess, revealing how she’s nailing royal life by the minute.
Speaking to the publication, a friend revealed that Kate’s royal life has stuck to the confines of royal protocol – a feat she was preconditioned for.
“In person, Catherine is a bit warmer and slightly more fun than in public, but you are aware that she is always aware of how careful she has to be. There is a level of control that she has to retain. I don’t think she’d know how to fully let her guard down now, even if she wanted to,” the source explained.
The Duchess also appears to be keen to keep her personal relationships private – something that’s certainly added to her pristine public image.
Yes, while we never see Kate out and about with her pals, she has a tight knit group she reportedly keeps in touch with.
“Kate is one of us in the sense that all her friends are Sloanes and aristocrats,” a friend of her group explained.
“She’s very much decided that that’s her tribe.”
Appearing down-to-earth, with the air of superiority so easily attached to any royal family member is the next hurdle to tackle, yet again, Kate takes it all in her stride.
Case in point? Her approach to dropping her kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at school.
“Kate has grown in my esteem because she is genuinely involved with the school. She does the drop-off herself, comes to coffee mornings and even queues to get her own coffee after drop-off, like the other mothers,” one mother from the school explained to the publication.
Of course, things haven’t always been smooth sailing for the Duchess.
At the start of this year, two key members of the royal fold, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, announced they would be stepping back in their senior roles.
The announcement came as a shock, particularly given Kate’s calm, quiet approach to things.
And with it, came a whole new world for the Duchess.
“Kate understands that the only credo of the Royal Family is duty, duty, duty,” a royal courtier explained.
“Whereas with the Sussexes it is constant uncertainty, [Kate and Willaim] represent stability and continuity.”
The infamous announcement from the Susssexes also meant the Firm was slimmed down somewhat, so who better to ramp things up than the family’s golden girl?
Yes, you’ve probably noticed we’ve seen a lot of Kate in the last few months. And it’s certainly not by accident as she continues to bring a fresh (and very stylish) appeal to the age-old institution.
So with this in mind, one can’t help but commend the royal, who has certainly been faced with her fair share of twists and turns.
Her first stop is dominating the monarchy, as for what’s next? Who knows – maybe the world.
