As details are divulged on the innerworkings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal life in the newly released Harry and Meghan, the public have also been let into their personal life.
Now living in America after abdicating from royal patronages, the pair reside in Santa Barbara, California with their two children Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor (3) and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor (1).
While their offspring have been kept out of the public eye, in never-before-seen footage, audiences are further familiarized with their first-born, Archie. As a, now, rambunctious toddler, Archie’s cheeky personality shines through in his brief documentary appearances. What comes as one of the biggest surprises about him, however, is that he’s an Elton John fan.
Meghan confirms her son’s fan status, fondly saying, “I mean Archie loves Bennie and the Jets. It is his favourite song and to watch a two-year-old go, ‘Bennyyy…”
What impeccable music taste for a toddler!
While we learn more about the family’s life away from the British Monarchy, this information acts as a loving tie to their royal roots.
Much like his grandmother, Archie takes a bit of Diana with him through his love of the singer.
Diana and Elton shared a notoriously close friendship, where they attended major public events together, such as the 1985 Live Aid. Considering their close relationship, the young Mountbatten-Windsor forms a special connection between the two generations.

Harry and Meghan recently shared their support of the singer in a tribute video for his LA concert in Dodger Stadium, thanking him for being a ‘friend’ to their children.
Within the presently-released episodes, while touching on their close bond, Harry and Meghan’s children are only shown briefly.

The parents confirm they prefer to keep their kids out of the public eye.
“We’ve been really conscious about protecting our kids as best we can and also understanding the role they play in this really historical family,” Meghan commented.
“As a dad, and as parents, I think consent is a really key piece to this. That if you have children it should be your consent as to what you share,” Harry added later on.
Their daughter, Lilibet is yet to be shown in the docu-series.
