Queen Consort Camilla has tested positive for COVID-19 for a second time, exactly one year after she first caught the virus.
After ”suffering symptoms of a cold”, Camilla has now been forced to pull out of a number of upcoming royal engagements including a visit to Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham and a library in Telford.
”With regret, she has therefore cancelled all of her public engagements for this week and sends her sincere apologies for those who had been due to attend them,” a statement from Buckingham Palace read.
Both King Charles and Camilla have been fully vaccinated against the virus, including a booster shot.
It remains unclear if King Charles has contracted COVID-19 from his wife. If he does test positive then it will be his third time testing positive with the virus.

In February 2022, the then Duchess of Cornwall tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time just days after it was revealed that her husband, the then Prince and now King Charles, had contracted the virus for the second time.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating,” Clarence House said in a statement.

It was revealed that Prince Charles had contracted COVID for the second time just days previously.
“This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating,” Clarence House said in a statement on Twitter at the time, adding that they were “deeply disappointed” that he would not be able to attend the upcoming royal engagement in Winchester.
The news came just days after Charles had reportedly met with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, though she did not display any symptoms.
The late monarch did end up contracting COVID, which reportedly left her ”very tired and exhausted,” but she made a timely recovery and only experienced ”mild symptoms.”
Camilla’s first positive result comes four days after her husband.

Back in March 2020, he tested positive for COVID-19 and detailed how the mild case saw him temporarily lose his sense of taste and smell.
In early 2021 the Queen confirmed she had received her first COVID vaccine dose while encouraging others to also get the jab during a video call with U.K. health officials.
