At 96, Prince Philip should be enjoying the spoils of retirement.

But this week, The Duke of Edinburgh is having to face wild claims from British Labour MP Emma Dent Coad alleging he has been “mucking about for years” behind The Queen’s back.

According to The Sun, the 62-year-old politician unleashed the extraordinary rant at a Reigning in The Monarchy event this week.

“The Queen might want to step back when her (cough, cough) soulmate is gone. He’s been quite unfaithful for quite a few years,” Ms Dent Coad said at the gathering.

It’s certainly not the first time the couple, who will celebrate 70 years of marriage this year, have been rocked with a cheating drama.

In the past, Prince Philip has been linked to British author Daphne Du Mauriers, actress/dancer Pat Kirkwood and most scandously of all, Princess Alexandra of Kent – the Queen’s cousin.

The Queen and Prince Philip, pictured in 1958, will celebrate 70 years of marriage this November.

Royal insiders claim Philip and Princess Alexandra had a secret affair spanning 20 years but the salacious theory has never been proven, nor have any other cheating allegations.

However Prince Philip has always pledged his loyalty to Her Majesty. “My job first, second and last is never to let the Queen down,” he has previously said.

It’s also been alleged Philip conducted extra-marital activity during his 1956 world tour on the royal yacht Britannia.

“How could I [cheat]? I’ve had a detective in my company, night and day, since 1947,” Philip has remarked.

At the time, outlets claimed he’d taken a mystery women along with him.

Buckingham Palace has not officially commented, but Prince Philip has aptly conveyed, “How could I? I’ve had a detective in my company, night and day, since 1947.”

The second season of The Crown is set to explore these claims.

In March, the show’s creator Peter Morgan remarked: “Doesn’t everyone in Britain know he had an affair?”

Meanwhile, the retired royal isn’t the only family member copping the wrath of Emma Dent Coad.

She unfairly let rip on Prince Harry’s military career, saying: “Harry can’t actually fly a helicopter. He tried to pass the helicopter exam about four times and he couldn’t get through it at all so he always goes for the co-pilot. So he just sits there going ‘vroom vroom.’”

If Ms Dent Coad took the time to check her facts, she would have been reminded just how hard it is to qualify as an Apache pilot – something Harry did with flying colours, not because of his status but because of his natural skill.

Harry underwent intense training and preparation to hold one of the most highly-skilled positions in the military – an Apache pilot. Flying an Apache helicopter is considered one of the hardest machines to operate.

The politician then hit out at Duchess Catherine, too, saying it was “disgusting” she purchased a jumper worth $191.

“That’s a food bill for a family of four,” she raged.

“Just let them drift away, be playboys or whatever,” she added of Prince William and Harry, who she thinks are “not very bright.”

Not surprisingly, Ms Dent Coad has since admitted her comments about Prince Harry’s military career were inaccurate and that she was just “poking fun” of the royals.

As for her claims over Prince Philip, she told the Evening Standard: “Oh no, shock horror. I’m not going to respond to that, everyone knows what’s going on… I don’t want to get into the detail of it because it’s got out of hand.”

“I was talking about whether taxpayers should fund the royal family. But we need a proper debate about the royal family. It’s about taxpayer funding.”

We don’t expect Emma will be scoring an invite to any future royal events.
