When it comes to Halloween, you’re in either of two camps – just treating it like a completely normal day, or going all out with wild costumes and festivities galore.
It would be safe to say Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry fall into the latter category.
In a surprise reveal, the new parents shared a sweet Instagram post in celebration of Halloween, and they dropped a major hint about Archie that we can’t help but delight over.
Taking to their official Instagram account, Sussex Royal, Meghan and Harry shared a picture taken of them in Wellington, New Zealand last year where they were seen standing beside a number of creatively dressed people.
Alongside the snap. they wrote: “Happy Halloween! ‘Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween from our family (and our little pumpkin) to yours!'”
Does this hint at baby Archie’s costume for the spooky day? We’ll certainly be hoping for a picture if that’s true!
The image was taken at a Wellington-based special effects workshop, Courtenay Creative, which Meghan and Harry both enjoyed visiting as part of their royal tour of New Zealand.
The Kiwi city is known for its creativity and dedication for the arts – something Halloween’s creative costuming aligns well with. The colourful picture really was the perfect tribute from the royals!
Halloween will no doubt be a big day for Meghan, especially given how widely it is celebrated in her home country, the United States.
We can imagine she and Harry will be having a lot of fun spending their first spooky holiday with son Archie – although we’re assuming he won’t be indulging in many sweets just yet!

Next month, the Sussexes will take a short break from their royal duties, where it is expected the family of three will pay a visit to LA.
The trip comes at a good time for the royals, who have been at the centre of media reports following their explosive new ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey.
It is understood the family will head to LA in time for Thanksgiving, during which time they will likely visit Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother.
Looks like the family will have plenty of firsts to celebrate, and it all starts with Halloween!
