The royal baby bonanza continues with another announcement of a royal baby on the way.
Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Christopher O’Neill announced today they were expecting their first child.
The royal family’s newest arrival is due to arrive in March next year.
The news was announced on the royal family’s official facebook page and website by Palace officials who said no changes would be made to Madeleine’s engagements and charity work in the fall of 2013.
“Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill are delighted to announce that The Princess is expecting their first child,” an announcement from the Royal court said.
“The birth is expected to take place in [the] beginning of March of 2014.”
The new royal arrival will be third in line to the throne.
Princess Madeleine, 31, wed her 39-year-old financier husband in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm in June of this year.
The pair met in New York in 2011 and announced their engagement the following year.
‘Tis the season for royal arrivals, with the latest announcement following a string of new heirs delivered, or shortly due, to the British royals.
In addition to the birth of Prince George to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge in July, William’s cousin Zara Phillips is expecting her first child in the new year.
Prince George will also have a fellow royal playmate in Kensington Palace with the first grandchild of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, baby Maud, arriving last month.
