A crocodile and condoms for little Prince George

A crocodile and condoms for little Prince George

What do you give a baby who wants for nothing? A crocodile, apparently.

Governments, the rich and the famous have swamped the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with presents, in what seems to have become a competition of who can send the most elaborate gift.

The Northern Territory government has gifted the royal baby a crocodile, fittingly named after the Prince himself. Thankfully, it won’t be turning up on the Middleton family’s doorstep – George will remain at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin City with its fellow reptiles, crocs Prince William and Catherine.

“We’ve decided to give a unique gift, a little baby crocodile, whose egg was hatched on December 3, the day William and Catherine announced they were pregnant,” said NT chief minister Adam Giles.

“We will encourage new Prince George to come to Darwin and view the royal gift.”

But perhaps even more bizarre than George the croc was a box of goodies from Kela, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland… which included, among other things, condoms.

The royal couple have also received cuff-links for George’s christening, a suit and tie, and a parking space in a shopping centre.

We assume the car space is for Will and Kate. We’re still not sure what to think of the condoms.
