Delta Goodrem has been part of The Voice Australia for so long, it’s almost as though she is glued to her Team Delta chair. But do you remember the year Kylie Minogue took her place? Or what about when Boyzone star Ronan Keating was part of the line-up?
With so many famous faces and strong personalities, there was always bound to be some clashes (Jessie J versus Delta, never forget) and exposive storm outs (looking at you, Boy George!) along the way. But one thing the coaches line-up has never been is boring!
From the show’s origins in 2012 when Keith Urban was the male Aussie singer stealing the spotlight to its current incarnation with Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian, here is every coach on The Voice Australia…
The Voice season one
Season one
Before The Voice was the tried and tested ratings juggernaut we all know and love, the series was a brand-new twist on the singing show format when it hit screens in 2012. The original coach line-up featured Seal, Keith Urban, Delta Goodrem and Joel Madden.
The Voice season two
Season two
With Keith Urban giving season two a miss, She Bangs hit-maker Ricky Martin stepped in to fill his shoes. Seal, Joel and Delta all returned for more.
The Voice season three
Season three
In season three, Delta was out and another Australian pop princess was in! Kylie Minogue joined this year as did will.i.am, who replaced Seal.
The Voice kids
The Voice Kids
Fans with razor sharp memories will recall that there was a children’s version of The Voice way back in 2014. Its coaches were Delta Goodrem, The Madden Brothers and The Spice Girl’s Mel B.
The Voice season four
Season four
Delta was back for season four after her brief hiatus from the show (although she was a coach on the kids’ version that year). Outspoken British star Jessie J was the newest female coach, Ricky Martin returned and double trouble came in the form of the Madden brothers with Benji joining his brother Joel.

The Voice season five
Season five
Season five saw the likes of the Madden brothers, Jessie J and Delta return. But with Ricky calling it quits, a new coach was needed and Ronan Keating heeded the call.
The Voice season six
Season six
Ronan’s stint on The Voice didn’t last long and by season six he was gone. There had been a Madden brother in every season since the show kicked off but the Good Charlotte boys departed this year as did Jessie J. Filling their vacant spots were Seal, Kelly Rowland and Boy George.
The Voice season seven
Season seven
Delta continued to stick around for season seven and Kelly Rowland and Boy George also came back for more. Seal left the show for the second time and former teen heartthrob Joe Jonas made the trip Down Under and got comfy in the empty red chair.
The Voice season eight
Season eight
Proving she has staying power, Delta was back again and it was third time lucky for Boy George and Kelly Rowland. For the first time, there were two Aussie coaches on board when Guy Sebastian replaced Joe Jonas for the new season.
The Voice season nine
Season nine
For the first time in history on The Voice Australia, all four coaches remained the same! But there was one shake-up in 2020. Gone was host Sonia Kruger and in her place was returning host Darren McMullen and wingwoman Renee Bargh.
