It was revealed in March 2023 international pop star Jason Derulo would be following in Keith Urban’s stead, alongside fellow judges Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and US singer Rita Ora.

Keith isn’t returning for 2023!

In the first official look (below) it first showed Rita, Guy and Jessica quite literally being blown away from one mysterious talented singer. It was only at the end when Jason made a dramatic entrance, yet his face was not seen.

While everyone wondered who the incredible singer was, most fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming season.

“Omg I can’t wait for the new season to come out this year,” one wrote.

Another fan asked the network to “hurry up” as they were “having withdrawls and watching repeats.”

Meanwhile other fans begged the season to be longer than last year after which featured 14 episodes.

If the comment section is to be believed, fans have got accustomed to Jason joining the judging panel after vocalising their disappointment that Keith would not be returning.

“But we need a country artist as a coach. Keith Urban was the only reason I watched The Voice,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“NOOOOO KEITH”.

Another commented: “Where the hells Keith, he rocks!”.

“Very sad news [Keith] Urban is not continuing on the show,” one said.

Overall, fans were devastated to see Keith was being excluded but majority were loving the person of colour representation on this year’s judging panel.

But Keith wasn’t the only Australian left out of the 2023 line-up as fans wondered why heartthrob Delta Goodrem wasn’t featuring on the new season despite not being a judge since 2020.

“I’m kinda sad for not seeing delta back on channel 7, i was really hoping to see her and rita working together,” one commented.

Another wrote: “Bring delta back”.

And the sentiment hasn’t changed even after all these months as fans were still asking Delta return to The Voice.

The Voice Australia returns to Channel 7 and 7Plus on Sunday, August 6 at 7:00pm.
