Diana Rouvas has been crowned winner of The Voice Australia 2019!
The singer had emerged triumphant from her second stint on the hit reality series, where she previously competed as part of Keith Urban’s team back in season one.
In what was described as the ‘closest’ Grand Finale in the show’s history, Diana beat out Jordan, Daniel and Zeek to win the top prize.
She’s walking away from the competition with an EMI Record Contract and $100,000 in prize-money. Plus, she’s got the support of her coach and mentor Boy George. So, what’s next for Diana?
“I want to tour and catch the momentum the show gives us,” Diana tells TV WEEK the morning after her win.
“Obviously my single ‘Wait For No One’ – which is an original song – has been released. So hopefully we can follow that up with some more and then get out there and get on the road.”
Though she’s excited for the next stage of her career, Diana admits this moment has been hard won.
“After 20 good years I’ll tell you what, it’s a win for many losses,” she reveals.
“In my career it’s taken a long time to have this moment, to have this break.
“To be representing women who have been working for many years, it’s nice to be able to achieve this at 35. It’s quite rewarding.”
Of course, Diana credits her coach Boy George for his part in her success on the series.
“He was genuinely very happy for me, which was beautiful to see,” Diana reveals of the moment she won. “He’s had my back and been incredibly supportive.”
We can’t wait to see what Diana does next!
