The Block long-time judge Shaynna Blaze has posted a health update to Instagram and fans have wished her a fast recovery.
The 59-year old uploaded a candid picture to Instagram of her fighting COVID-19 with a comfortable white robe and face covering.
“Today’s #stylefile brought to you by Covid! On our third series into the pandemic it finally got me on our second last day of judging!” she wrote.
During an episode promotional video, it was announced that former Block favourites from 2013 Alisa and Lysandra would be taking on Shaynna’s judging role after changing their careers to become interior designers.
“Neale and I went down and after 14 series, it was my first time not being able to judge. I know Alyssa & Lysandra will have rocked it,” she penned.
“I can’t wait to hear their thoughts.
“So tonight I’ll be taking it easy, Covid-free watching @theblock as a spectator!”
Alisa and Lysandra replied to Shaynna’s encouraging words, they commented: “Sorry the Rona got you. Thank you for all your support and a definite privilege stepping into your shoes for a night xx”
Meanwhile, fellow Block judge Darren Palmer wrote: “We’ll hold down the fort until you return x”
The Block has faced a lot of controversy lately involving debt, cheating scandals and now fans are calling for “new fresh eyes” as they tire of the judges who have featured on the show for years.
Numerous Blockheads have advocated for Shaynna Blaze to leave the show after some ‘questionable’ judging.
“Shaynna Blaze is the main reason I’ve stopped watching The Block… I could understand some of her decisions but it’s all down to TV drama, don’t worry about how the contestants feel, it’s really so sad,” one fan savagely wrote online.
She wasn’t the only judge that fans wanted to kick off after another fan wrote: “Think the judges need to find new careers.”
Another one commented: “They definitely need to go! We need some new fresh eyes. They definitely play favouritism.”
