Whilst it may seem that The Block’s long running host Scott Cam is always in amongst the renovation action, there’s a lot more that fans don’t get to see of the beloved television personality when he isn’t onsite.

After joining the popular reality show in 2010, Scott (affectionately dubbed Scotty by his legion of fans) has become part of the furniture, there’s just no one else we can imagine yelling ”tools down”.

So what does his life outside The Block look like?

Scotty is a family man through and through!

Well, back in the day Scotty was a host on another well loved (and Logie award winning) program, Backyard Blitz.

Starring along the likes of Nigel Ruck, Jamie Durie and Jody Rigby, the show ran from 2000 – 2007.

And in news that will likely surprise many, Scotty has revealed that the cast still occasionally catch up over a beer (cute).

He then continued his hosting duties, appearing on Renovation Rescue in 2004 before hosting his own live variety lifestyle program Our Place in 2005.

Fast forward to 2010 and he started hosting The Block, also stepping up to host renovation show Reno Rumble from 2015 – 2016 before its cancellation (is there anything he can’t do?).

Off screen, Scotty is a doting dad to three (now adult) children, Charlie and twins Billy and Sarah and a loving husband to wife Ann, who met way back in 1989.

This year, Scotty celebrated a number of major family milestones including his 60th birthday celebrations and the university graduations of two of his kids.

When he is not in Melbourne filming The Block, he also lives in the upmarket Sydney suburb of Vaucluse in a Mediterranean-style mansion.

The sprawling pad features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a swimming pool.

It also has a gym and a recording studio, where Scotty does his voice over work for Channel Nine remotely.

Since purchasing the property over 10 years ago, it has served as the perfect base for his family.

Cam also owns an art deco apartment in Port Melbourne, which he secretly bought for $2.2 million in 2017. What makes this property so unique is that it was actually renovated by contestants on The Block in 2016 as part of a group challenge.

His burgeoning property empire also includes a multimillion dollar property in Rosebery, a coastal home in Narrawallee and even a farm on the outskirts of Mudgee where he most recently visited with his family to relax after an intense three months on The Block.

Scotty and his canine companion Frankie are IRL BFF’s.

Perhaps more notable than Scotty is his trusty sidekick Frankie, his rescue pup that regularly features on his socials helping his dad out with work around the house, cuddles and more.

With a calendar busier than most, Scotty’s farm time and family life is very well deserved, onya Scotty!
