Since he joined The Block in 2010, we’ve watched host Scott Cam shout though our screens, guiding a whopping 67 couples through the ultimate renovation project.
But the TV legend, who turns 57 this year, tells TV WEEK he can’t help but think about putting his tools down – for good!
“I might be in trouble – another three years and I will be 60,” he concedes. “That’s staying in one show for a long time.”
While Scott says he’s still contracted to the Nine Network “for quite a while yet”, he’s found himself fantasising about his retirement years recently.
“I was thinking about it the other day, ‘What is going to happen next?'” he reveals, before confessing that he is struggling to think about a time where he’s not working.
So, Scott admits that before he hangs up his work boots for good, he’s got one more gig in him.
“I like Australiana and I like Australian history. I like all things Australian really,” he says. “So I would like to do a show about Australia – cooking in Australia, travelling in Australia and the Australian myths and legends… with a bit of outdoor cooking mixed into it!”
The former TV WEEK Gold Logie winner says he even has a name for the show.
“Scotty Cam’s Australia!” he says. “But that’s all for after The Block – maybe that’s for my retirement years.”
The Block airs Monday to Wednesday, 7:30pm, and Sunday, 7pm, on Nine Network.
