Forget the houses! A TV insider says The Block producers have been patting this yearโ€™s contestants on the back for outdoing their fellow Nine stars from Married At First Sight by delivering the juiciest first week drama yet!

โ€œIf this is how weโ€™re going to be week one, I donโ€™t know how weโ€™re going to be week 12,โ€ admits Leah, 32, who is already embroiled in a feud with fellow Blockhead Steph, 27.

The drama has already begun for Blockheads Leah and Ash.

Kristy, 34, confirms to Womanโ€™s Day there are โ€œa few hiccups along the wayโ€ that caused her to have โ€œmoments of wanting to leaveโ€.

We hear that instant friends Kristy and Leah have labelled Steph โ€œsmart and sneakyโ€ as a catfight kicked off at the start of this yearโ€™s competition.

โ€œSteph did everything calculated,โ€ Kristy tells Womanโ€™s Day.

โ€œI did have my reservations [with her] in the beginning,โ€ agrees Leah. โ€œI prefer everything to be upfront and I wasnโ€™t quite getting that from her, so I did find it really difficult.โ€

โ€œThen she was sort of coming off as quite competitive, so naturally in The Block environment, you just start questioning everything. There were a couple of things that I thought, โ€˜Oh, I think she might be playing a game and being a bit sneaky.'โ€

Leah says one of Stephโ€™s strategies was trying to psych her out!

โ€œShe would know things about my room before I even shared them, but sheโ€™d say things like, โ€˜Oh, so youโ€™re doing Venetian plastering. Um, did you know you canโ€™t get that done in a short amount of time? It takes 10 days.โ€™

โ€œIt just came off in a rude way,โ€ Leah shares.

โ€œSteph did everything calculated.โ€

Steph, though, says the other Blockheads feel threatened by her architecture background.

โ€œI deflected on the show and said, โ€˜Oh, no, I donโ€™t think people would be intimidated by me because weโ€™re just young kids,โ€™ but I grew to know that people were definitely intimidated by me,โ€ she tells Womanโ€™s Day.

Steph insists she had more important things to focus on than the drama with her castmates โ€“ like renovating!

โ€œWe always felt like we were behind the eight ball, that some people who were in front had time to, like, gossip!โ€

โ€œWe were just like, โ€˜What?'โ€ says Steph, who also battles with her builders as the competition goes on โ€“ and ends up sending them packing!

Kirsty and Brett are hoping to keep The Block entertaining.

Unlike Steph, Kristy says she made it her mission to drum up drama on Charming Street.

โ€œI could see things play out prior to them happening, so I would kind of like drop a bomb and run away,โ€ she says.

โ€œI was just entertaining myself and trying to make it as fun as possible.โ€

And her husband Brett is here for it! โ€œOther seasons Iโ€™ve watched Iโ€™ve found rather boring, so if bitchiness comes across, great,โ€ says Brett, 34.

โ€œIโ€™d rather watch that than some of the more simple seasons Iโ€™ve seen in the past.โ€

โ€œLook at last season, the biggest thing to happen was tiles not showing up! Thatโ€™s boring,โ€ he says.
