Now that filming has finished on The Block, Courtney and Hans are preparing for their next big challenge: planning a destination wedding.
The couple got engaged just weeks before work started at The Gatwick in St Kilda earlier this year.
Flight attendant Courtney and pilot Hans met in 2011, and have been madly in love ever since.
“We have been so focused on The Block, so it’s only now we have just been talking about where we want to get married,” Courtney, 33, says.
“Hans and I are such travellers, we want to have an amazing destination wedding.”
Although a wedding date hasn’t been set for the Perth couple, they are considering two locations: Mexico, or the Barossa Valley in South Australia.
“We want to make it small and intimate, but make it a great party as well,” the bride-to-be adds.
The couple had some major ups and downs on The Block, including losing their builder in the first week.
However, with the support of each other, the couple got through the difficult three-month filming process.
“We have definitely come out of it stronger, that’s for sure,” Courtney says.
“If you see any snappiness or bickering during the show, it’s just a result of fatigue and the [fast] pace of The Block.
The Perth duo took out an impressive win on Sunday night’s room reveal, scoring 25.5 for their main bathroom.
It was a win that was a little too close for comfort, with fellow contenders Carla and Bianca taking second place by only 0.5 of a point.
The pair was praised by all three judges for their choice of Terrazzo tiles, as well their quirky choice in decor which featured a baby head shaped pot plant.
The room was also commended for its functionality, which has proven to be a challenge for Blockheads bathroom’s in previous years.
