With tensions still high after backyard week, The Block contestants are on alert and on edge as the final indoor rooms begin.
In just one week, they’ll have to complete their home’s interior, with garage, study and wine cellars – or whatever the contestants want to turn their basements into – the target.
But for many, the bigger challenge is avoiding arguments.
And for houses one and two, that’s a challenge that doesn’t even make it past Monday morning.
“Ronnie has called us out for pre-ordering, but it’s OK for him?” says an outraged Mitch when a truck full of building materials arrives first thing Monday morning. “Where’s Ronnie!”
Confronting his neighbour, Mitch points out if Ronnie wants to call him and Mitch out for ordering ahead, he has to play by the same rules.
“There are no rules,” Ronnie fires back, sending Mitch storming out and driving a wedge between the two teams.
But while Mitch fumes, Block boss Scott Cam steps in to make a ruling – the offending materials will be roped off and untouched until the other team’s supplies arrive.
And sick of the constant bickering, Cam also orders the two houses to make up.
It’s an aftershock of the explosion that was The Block‘s earlier cheating scandal, Mitch is forced to admit, and a bit of karma, Ronnie adds after he had accused his neighbours of a similar rule breach weeks before.
But it’s also the last thing anyone needs in an already hectic week, Georgia says.
“This week we’ve got seven spaces to tackle,” Georgia, 37, tells TV Week.
“We’re completing our mezzanine level, creating our spiral staircase that will connect that area to the ground level and then the cellar below – which we’re also doing – plus two powder rooms, our garage, a fourth bedroom and a mudroom, once we finish them that’s the interior of the house complete and that’s enough to contend with!
“But fair call, it’s week eleven, everyone’s tired, everyone’s grumpy, everyone’s running out of money, I get it, but there’s always an explanation for these things, it’s just a matter of having a chat!”
