While last season of The Block had a gripping cheating scandal, this year the drama is just as tantalising.
At the centre of the latest controversy is contentious couple Ankur and Sharon, who are the only current contestants without trade experience.
After an emotional run-in with Scott Cam and Shelley Craft in last night’s episode, in which the host told them they needed an attitude change, the couple have broken their silence following the intense exchange.
Taking to Instagram, the reality stars shared a photo of their embrace, writing: “When there’s more going on behind the scenes than in front of them, just hug it out and leave… if you don’t cry, you cry… #TheBlock.”
During last night’s episode, the couple reached breaking point as they admitted they were overwhelmed by the workload, having several run-ins with their builders in the process. It all culminated in Foreman Keith questioning their work ethic.
“How are we going to continue working at this ridiculous rate and pace and expectation and pressure, and look after ourselves in the process?” Sharon said.
After the couple took a night away to clear their heads, Scott Cam and Shelley Craft checked in on the pair to see how they were going.
“We’ve been hearing all sorts of chat that you’re just not really happy here and that makes me really really sad,” Shelley said, before Scott jumped in and told them that they needed to change their attitude.
“You made the comment, and with a lot of language, ‘Seven more weeks of this nonsense and we can get out of this hellhole’,” he said.
“No one’s keeping you here and you can go anytime you like. This is not compulsory.”
An emotional Sharon confessed she thought they were given “unrealistic expectations” before Ankur claimed they’d resolved their issues with the builders.

“We’re not sitting on our butts doing nothing. We’re trying our best,” Sharon said.
Despite Scott and Shelley assuring the couple they were trying to find a solution that worked for everybody, Sharon and Ankur left the site.
“I reckon we just quit,” Ankur said as they got in their car
“I can’t believe they just did that to us,” Sharon added, saying: “Nobody here cares about us,” before taking down the camera.
This is just the latest drama The Block has found itself in.
Earlier in the week, the show was blasted as “tone deaf” after the contestants all gathered together donning sombreros, ponchos and fake facial hair for ‘a Mexican fiesta’.
“It kept getting worse. Just when you thought it was racist enough the eyebrows pop up on screen,” a viewer wrote.
Many viewers agreed that the party was “uncomfortable” to watch.
