While we may love The Block for the drama and the interior style, all the contestantโ€™s choices come down to one final thing โ€“ selling the house.

In 2023, Channel Nine has moved from the countryside to a more central location closer to Melbourne in the hopes of reversing last yearโ€™s anticlimactic auction night.

It isnโ€™t The Block without Scotty Cam.

Season 19 has featured five homes originally built in the 1950s, and these 70-year-old brick homes have truly transformed into modern homes.

The Block has experienced enough drama, stress and tears โ€“ it took a miracle, but all the houses were completed. Judge Darren Palmer confessed it was โ€œdifficult.โ€

โ€œThis season has probably been one of the more difficult to judge,โ€ he told Nine.

โ€œEach of the houses are so different, the floor plans are so different, and the spaces are all unique But as always, once the houses are near completion, itโ€™s great to see the transformation.โ€

Meanwhile, Neale Whitaker โ€“ who is dividing his judging time this season with Marty Fox โ€“ has loved watching the houses transform.

โ€œI love houses from the 1950s, so itโ€™s been great to see how they have been adapted for the renovation start to finish,โ€ he told Nine.

There were a few rule changes to the 2023 season. The fresh Blockheads were allowed to see the plans for their homeโ€™s exterior from the beginning โ€“ something that has never been done before.

All five houses are from the 1950s.

Judge Shaynna Blaze told Nine: โ€œI think that is a real game changer.โ€

โ€œI think this season in particular we have seen things on The Block that we havenโ€™t seen before, which is surprising our judges.โ€
