Daniel Noonan became the fifth-last person sent home from The Bachelorette Australia tonight, in the final episode before the hometown visits.
Though Daniel appeared to score little-to-no time with our Bachelorette Ali Oetjen, he tells TV WEEK that was just due to the editing process. Yes that’s right, Daniel can talk! He even spoke to Ali a lot more than the show appears to let on.
“I did actually get a lot of time with her, it’s just unfortunate that it wasn’t shown to the public,” he tells TV WEEK, adding “But, yeah, obviously to have made it as far as I did I had to have some kind of connection with her.
“It’s just unfortunate viewers didn’t get to see my connection with her, because there was one there every time I spoke to her.”
Daniel’s ~minimal~ edit could have something to do with the fact that he’s a just a chill, nice guy and not a pot-stirrer. After all, there were plenty of others on the show who scored less alone time with Ali, yet WAY more screen time.
Though he was barely given any screen time – and has been the subject of a lot of ‘who is that?’ jokes on Twitter – Daniel has maintained a cheeky sense of humour over his edit on the series.
“Will anyone notice me pulling off this suede number?” he joked in one photo caption on Instagram, “You won’t get me to talk that easily Taite!” he quipped on another.
“Yeah I’ve gotta make light of it!” Daniel says. “That’s the number one question! ‘How have you made it so far?’ Between looking so awkward, not having any air time and not even talking at all… well actually [in real life] it was quite the opposite. It’s just unfortunate that you don’t see the real me.”
Daniel says he has no regrets over going on the reality dating series, and holds no grudges against Ali for sending him home.
“I obviously wasn’t the one for her and that’s completely fine. I respect that! I wish her nothing but the best and I want her to find the one for her,” he reveals.
Daniel spent the most time in the house with the boys before the final stages, so who does he think is the one for Ali? After tonight’s slightly tense one-on-one date the answer may surprise you: it’s Taite!
“He is just a well-grounded, great individual. He’s got his life together, he knows exactly what he wants and he’s a gentleman,” says Daniel. “If anyone’s to win it, I would definitely hope it would be Taite.”
The Bachelorette Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30pm, on Network 10.
