James Doran – or Jamie, as he’s set to be known – is the latest contestant to be revealed ahead of The Bachelorette Australia premiere next Wednesday night.
The dashing 39-year-old firefighter is set to sweep Angie Kent off her feet, when they meet on the red carpet at the Bachelor Mansion. Arriving in his work kit, holding a gorgeous chocolate Labrador puppy, Jamie makes a killer first impression.
“You’ve already won my heart, I can’t even think of anything else. Do you want the rose?” Angie says upon meeting him.
We don’t know about you, but we’re seeing plenty of roses in Jamie’s future. Find out everything you need to know about the smoking contestant below…
He’s a firefighter
New South Wales-based Jamie has been a firefighter for years, having previously appeared in the charitable Australian Firefighter’s Calendar an incredible six times.
The calendar has proudly raised more than $3 million since 1993, and donates to charities including Rural Aid, Down Syndrome South Australia and Currumbin Wilflife Hospital.
He may not be the first Bachelorette contestant to star in a calendar (hello, Cam Cranley from Georgia Love’s season) but his pictures are sure to have the ladies swooning nonetheless.
He was nominated for Cleo Bachelor Of The Year
Then 30-year-old Jamie was on Cleo’s 50 Most Eligible list back in 2012.
He was nominated alongside people such as MasterChef’s Hayden Quinn, actor Johnny Ruffo and comedian Matt Okine.

He’s obsessed with travel
According to Jamie’s Instagram account, he’s an avid traveller who has been to 196 countries – including Antarctica!
The reality TV contestant previously spoke with The Daily Mail about his love for exploring, revealing he grew sick of his partying lifestyle in Sydney.
“I had a life that many would envy, but I felt weighed down by all of my possessions and my toxic Sydney lifestyle,” he told the publication in 2016. “I’d been a firefighter for a decade but from the first day I graduated I felt like an imposter in a uniform.
“I had several firefighting colleagues pass away and that was also playing on my mind, a lot,” he revealed of his decision to pack up his things, and head out across the globe.
