Everyone’s favourite larrikin, Paddy Colliar, did not receive a rose in Thursday’s episode of The Bachelorette, however, as one could imagine he is definitely taking it in his stride.

The 27-year-old, while disappointed to leave the boys in the mansion, does maintain the fact that he had “more chemistry with the alpaca’s than he did with Ali Oetjen” and she wasn’t necessarily the draw card for him applying.

If you’re an avid fan of the show and have watched all of the extra interviews with the boys on Ten Play (see above video), you may have seen Paddy joke about “missing his girlfriend” when quizzed about what he missed the most while being in the mansion.

Well, in a chat with Now to Love, the gym manager revealed a little titbit about his dating life – that proves that he almost wasn’t single when he went on the show and before that, he dated a very famous reality TV star.

“I was seeing someone for nearly two months just before I went in the house and then before that, I was seeing Erin [Barnett] from Love Island,” Paddy revealed.

“We were together for four months, but the timing just wasn’t right.” WOW! Another bachie – reality TV crossover, we didn’t know we needed!

So if Paddy was doing OK with the ladies – how come he applied for the show?

“I was at that point in my life when I didn’t owe anyone anything,” he said. “I was single. I was at a point where I was concentrating on work, focusing on myself and then I guess the timing was right. I took the opportunity and I do not regret anything.”

It was only after the application process, that Paddy, an Adelaide native, started “seeing” Erin, but when they realised it wasn’t working out, the romance ended and they both went onto their respective reality shows.

Now, the personal trainer is taking time for himself again – and is not jumping into anything.

“If the right girl comes along and I actually see a future with her, then yeh,” he said.

“I’m getting to a point in my life, I’m getting old – I’m nearly fifty,” he joked. “If the right girl comes along and has the right traits, qualities and attributes and or very similar, than yeh – why not.”

“But until that girl comes along, I’ll just concentrate on me, do me and try and open doors for myself.”

As Paddy left the The Bachelorette mansion last night, he definitely seemed like a different guy to who walked in.

But how did he feel watching it back?

“Once I sign those papers, it’s in their hands and they can do whatever they want,” he said of Warner Bros and Network Ten.

“I was pretty rowdy, I was a bit of a loose cannon, I obviously did have a few reds and they were long days. Being in that environment, not knowing what was going on, in a room with nineteen lads and one girl, there’s always going to be drama and high testosterone and emotions. But watching it back, it was a bit cringe-worthy but I was very confident in myself and the impact I made on and off camera.”

Colliar definitely made waves over the first few episodes by rubbing the guys up the wrong way – but as we and they got to know him more – there is so much more to him.

Now, the fitness guru has his sights set on Bachelor in Paradise and is just waiting for the call up – and frankly, we cannot wait to see him in Paradise.
