He’s by far the most controversial personality on The Bachelorette this season, and now Charlie Newling is causing waves by his apparent relationship with a former Bachelor contestant.
But it’s reality TV after all, so is everything as it seems?
In the last few weeks, Charlie has been seen several times with Dasha Gaivoronski – at a restaurant in Sydney, beach-side as they walked arm in arm along the promenade and now the two have taken their relationship to Instagram.
During an Instagram Q&A, the 32-year-old sent the mother-of-one a message.
“What’s with you and that hot amazing guy that your dating? You 2 look incredible together, [sic] ” he wrote.
And Dasha responded: “He is alright, isn’t he? We’re the besties of all times and understand each other like no one else. That’s so rare these days.[sic]”
Hmmm… sounds a little fishy to us.

When Now to Love reached out to Charlie for comment, he all but dashed (see what we did there) our hopes of an in-season scandal! GASP!
“Dasha and I are good friends and she has been an amazing support to me over the past few weeks. Last night’s Instagram post was us trying to make light of all the media attention on our relationship,” he said.
Oh. Well, OK. We guess?
If Charlie and Dasha were in a relationship – it would be a serious no-no, especially as they are seemingly flaunting it so openly.
The builder from Sydney is still under contract with Network Ten and Warner Bros. Australia and would be in breech of it by publicly entering into a relationship while The Bachelorette is still airing.
Last week, Danny Harris Wolf exited the mansion by being unceremoniously placed in the friend-zone, and in a chat with Now to Love, he spoke about the “budding” relationship between Charlie and Dasha.
“There might be just a friendship there,” Danny said. “This is such a difficult process to go through, and she might just be reaching out to help him. She seems like a lovely woman. I don’t know what the intention is behind it but I’m certainly not one to judge.”
While this little tidbit gave us precisely zero good goss, it does make a lot of sense – and could explain why there are A LOT of romances between contestants from various seasons.

As we look at all of information at hand, it really is a lot to take in and honestly, we don’t believe for one second that Charlie is not a front-runner.
Honestly, if he is in at least the top four, wouldn’t be too heartbroken OR (in love) with Ali to date right now…?
It’s also difficult for us to process this mess, especially when all signs point to the fact that Charlie is in fact Jarrod Woodgate 2.0.
History is repeating itself as Charlie had the first single date of the series, bought Ali a pot plant, sorry diary, and has just been keen bean over her since the get go.
If history is anything to go by, Newling will definitely not win – in fact, we’re kind of hoping for a Jarrod-type walk up a beach at the undisclosed finale location.

And then there’s the fact that Charlie constantly argues with front-runner Bill Goldsmith, the plumber from VIC who is by all intents and purposes, his arch nemesis.
The pair are obviously threatened by one another, and only people in love with Ali Oetjen behave this way, so who knows? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
It’s no secret that Charlie is full of, well, secrets (i.e the secret son he told no one about) so we can’t be sure what the actual deal is.
We guess only time will tell about who he is dating and in the meantime, we can sit back and watch him getting very red and very angry, every time he is near Bill.
