Dan, 32, WA
Dan, 32, Sports Reporter, WA
“I ran away from my last relationship”
“Through my own personal issues with my mental and physical health, I left her for overseas, where I ran off to travel… basically I panicked,” Dan says, when asked why his last relationship ended in 2015.
Todd, 26, WA
Todd, 26, Sales Rep, WA
“I love the bad girls”
“I am single because I keep choosing the wrong people,” Todd tells NW. “I think I have a complex where I choose the ‘bad girl’.”
And while Ali is the exact opposite of a traditional “bad girl”, Todd definitely has a lot to offer the Bachelorette in the future.
“I have very noble values and I’m a devoted partner,” he says. “I am impartial about having my own children, so I’m 100 per cent open to it. But I do want to eventually foster children.” Aww!
Todd also turned down the offer for Love Island for a crack at love with Ali – but if she’s not keen, he’ll ditch her!
“If Ali was forthcoming in saying she didn’t see a future with me, I think I wouldn’t wait for the rose ceremony. I’d just go,” Todd says.
Charlie, 31, NSW
Charlie, 31, Builder, NSW
“I was engaged for two years!”
Muscle man (and not-so-secret romantic) Charlie says he’s just going to be himself and hope that Ali likes it.
“I want someone who reciprocates what I put into a relationship and adores me for everything that I am,” he tells NW. “Honesty, loyalty, constant excitement and unconditional love are just a few things I have to offer.”
But could it be too early for him to be moving on? The Sydney-sider, who tells us he was engaged for two years, says he’s actually only been single for half a year.
“We broke up late last year, and separated after six months,” he spills. “We met at a bar and separated – due to not being together after living together.”
Ben, 26, NT
Ben, 26, Refrigeration Mechanic, NT
“That’s my deal breaker!”
Ben is a refrigeration mechanic who hails from the Northern Territory.
The 26-year-old has one deal-breaker that he’s not keen to keep up with, no matter the girl. “Matching characteristics to the Kardashians,” he admits.
Paddy, 27, VIC
Paddy, 27, Gym Manager, VIC
“I’m a bit scared of commitment”
Er, do you know what show you’re on Paddy? The Irish funnyman confesses to NW that he’s ready to take a stab at love with Ali.
“I think I’m scared of commitment. I want to be able to overcome that barrier, and whether that’s with Ali, time will tell,” he says.
And this Bachelorette could be the one to change his pattern! Paddy says he “100 per cent wants kids – two boys and one girl preferably,” and his only deal-breakers are “huge feet – or a girl that’s taller than me. I’m not being rude, but not my style!”
Robert, 29, VIC
Robert, 29, Plumber, VIC
“I was in love with Carly from MAFS”
Hunky Italian Rob tells NW he’s a relationship kinda guy, but there’s one ex who’s particularly special to him – Carly Bowyer from Married At First Sight!
“She was my most serious relationship to date – we lived together, we were together for the longest I’ve dated someone,” he confesses.
“Unfortunately, it’s been three years since we broke up. It was just one of those things. I don’t think it was from a lack
of trying, but unfortunately we just couldn’t seem to make it work. After a bit of time passed, we rekindled and became friends again.”
Rob, 29, says he and Carly are regularly in touch and he still sees her family “quite a bit”.
“She has a lot of awesome friends and a nice family and her brother is really nice. It’s kinda hard to say goodbye to the family and friends sometimes… “
Danny, 39, QLD
Danny, 39, Chiropractic Student, QLD
**My ex-fiancée broke my heart”*
Danny wants to heal his heart after his ex-fiancée broke it. “She’ll always have a special place in it. It wasn’t meant to be,” he says.
Bill, 31,VIC
Bill, 31, Mechanical Plumber, VIC
“I’m the nice guy!”
Don’t start drama with nice-guy Bill. “I hate confrontation,” he says. Instead his eyes are on the prize – “I have so much love to give,” the hunk gushes.
Peter, 27, QLD
Peter, 27, Commercial Sales Agent, QLD
“I hooked up with a famous rapper”
It seems this guy’s already had a taste of fame, as Peter tells NW about a juicy celeb rendezvous from his past!
“A few years back, I was in New York travelling and I met a girl who is in the limelight a fair bit. We had a good time together, but it was nothing serious. We were just hooking up. I was a kid from Australia, and she liked the accent I guess,” Pete spills.
But it didn’t last long! He adds, “She was living her own life. I was just a moment in time for her – potentially just a notch on the belt.”
Wesley, 31, QLD
Wesley, 31, Heavy Machinery Operator, QLD
“I’m too shy!”
Wes reckons he’s still single because he’s “too shy to have the confidence to talk to someone”. We predict he’ll be overshadowed by the other blokes.
Nathan, 23, NSW
Nathan, 23, Builder, NSW
“I’m impulsive!”
Nath describes himself as caring, fun-loving and impulsive. And you might be able to add troublemaker to that list, too, considering he’s besties with Davey Lloyd and Ryan Gallagher.
Taite, 28, VIC
Taite, 28, Bank Manager, VIC
“I ditched ‘Love Island’ for Ali”
He fell out of love with his ex of seven years a whole year-and-a-half ago and ever since, Taite has been on a mission to find his new leading lady. Yep, he’s been on First Dates – where he was set up with local Geordie Shore star Dee Nguyen – and almost made it to Majorca, Spain, to be on Love Island.
“I was about to head there until The Bachelorette called – I’m after more than a fling,” he laughs.
Taite, who describes himself as “a guy who doesn’t take life too seriously”, says his perfect girl is someone who is “career- driven, someone who makes me laugh and a girl who’s close with their family”.
Sounds a little like a certain blonde we know! And when we ask how he plans to win over Ali? “All I need is a single date!” he grins.
Ivan, 29, VIC
Ivan, 29, Commercial Painter, VIC
“Yes, I’m a stripper – and an actor!”
Make way for Ivan, because this big ball of energy is ready to pop, lock and drop into Ali’s life. The painter and dancer also comes with a long list of recommendations from former Bachelors and Bachelorettes Georgia Love, Lee Elliot and Carlos Fang.
“[Carlos] and I did topless waitering together in my early twenties,” he admits.
And his sexy dancing days are far from over, as Ivan – who describes himself as fun, loving, a little spontaneous and random – tells NW he’s ready to hit the big time in creating a third Magic Mike film… with him at the helm, of course.
Luckily he had a brief spot on Neighbours playing Mike Jansen, and got to find out how it works on set!
Damien, 42, QLD
Damien, 42, Retreat Director, QLD
“I’m divorced with a son!”
He’s applied for The Bachelor in the past, but Damien’s found himself on the other side of Osher Günsberg this year! The Gold Coast father-of-one tells NW he’s not willing to just settle for anyone.
“I’m single by choice because I want the next relationship to be right and not ‘just because’,” he reveals. “I have a son, and will have more children with the right person.”
Although, Damien might have a bit of trouble being patient with Ali, since he says a deal-breaker for him is someone who is “flirtatious with other guys”.
Er – she’ll be dating a whole bunch of your roommates, Damo! But if things don’t work out for this guy, it’s back behind the camera as he finishes a documentary about his life.
Jules, 24, NSW
Jules, 24, Former Infantry Corporal, NSW
“I’ve never had an adult girlfriend.”
Ali better be prepared to laugh with prankster Jules, who’s just moved back to Oz following a stint in the army that saw him travel the Middle East. “I know what you’re thinking – but I’ve never killed anyone,” he tells NW. “People always think that.”
He adds, “I haven’t had an adult girlfriend. In my adult life, I’ve never been in a relationship.” But while Jules is ready for love, Ali may not be The One – since he says he “still needs to see the world and experience more cultures before I commit to the idea of children.”
Daniel, 30, VIC
Daniel, 30, Personal Trainer, VIC
“I have so much to offer!”
Dan used to serve in the army and now that he’s back home, he says he has so much to offer. “Firstly, all my love and devoted attention – and all my life experiences and what I have learnt,” he says.
Cheyne, 28, NSW
Cheyne, 28, Construction Auditor, NSW
“I’m emotionally underdeveloped.”
We’re not expecting big things from Cheyne, who says he’s lucked out in past relationships as he’s been “emotionally underdeveloped”.
Brendan, 29, VIC
Brendan, 29, Events Manager, VIC
“I was in love with my high school sweetheart!”
Brendan’s last relationship was with his high-school sweetheart, who he split from last year. With babies on the brain, he’s after a funny lady who “has my back and I have theirs.”
