It’s the Bachelorette breakup that has swirled for months and after finally confirming last night that they had indeed parted ways, there is just one question on fans lips: why?
On screen, Angie Kent and Carlin Sterritt’s chemistry appeared to be red-hot and the pair couldn’t wait to start their future together.
But now, in a shock new interview, former Gogglebox star Angie has explained she and her ex simply weren’t on the same page when it came to their values.
“Chemistry doesn’t always equal compatibility. We gave it our all and it didn’t work out,” Angie explained to Sydney Confidential.
“Our values didn’t align. Both Carlin and I will never give personal details. Out of respect for Carlin, I will not reveal the personal workings of our relationship,” the 30-year-old added.
“That’s all I will say. I wish him nothing but the best for the future.”
While Angie claimed she wouldn’t address the matter further, on Monday July 6 the reality star appeared to take another swipe at her ex.
“The sisters not only got separated, they got a revamp! Fresh and feathered @theoriginalface_ ! So good to start feeling like the old Ang again. Working, loving, healing and surrounding myself with people who accept me for me!” Angie penned alongside a snap of her new eyebrows.
“Still always rocking a mean little stain on anything I wear as you can see… some things never change, and that i’m ok with. Forever the ultimate grublet 🙋🏼♀️ 💫”
Hmm, it doesn’t take a genius to read between the lines there with Angie clearly hinting Carlin perhaps didn’t accept her for who she was.

“I just wanted to say thank you to all those people who had some really lovely things to say. Everyone has actually been very kind. I had so much fear and anxiety about coming out with our breakup publicly. It was also actually quite debilitating each day when I was holding onto that truth,” he explained.
Before revealing he and Angie had made the final call to split only recently.
“Yes, we have come up with the decision recently but I just want everyone to know I’m really thankful for the hundreds of messages. Everyone is being so kind, if you can please extend that kindness to Angie as well,” the model requested.
After months of split speculation, Angie and Carlin confirmed they had parted ways on Wednesday evening by releasing seperate statements.
Posting to her Instagram Stories, Angie confirmed the split and the speculation that had been surrounding their breakup.
“Hi everyone, there’s been a lot of speculation and rumours about the state of my relationship with Carlin. We have not wanted to confirm up until this point because there have been much bigger issues going on in the world and we’ve both been taking space to think about what we really want,” Angie wrote.
“Matters of the heart are extremely difficult and I’m sad to say that Carlin and I have broken up. I wish him nothing but the best in the future. I appreciate everyone’s concern and the investment that many of you made in the show and our story, but this is real life and we both need privacy and time to heal.”
Angie added she wanted to “put the rumours to bed” and clarify to avoid questions.
“Please remember we are both human beings like everyone else, so be kind if you do choose to leave comments or messages,” she wrote.
“Words can be very hurtful – and compound already very difficult times. I won’t be making any further comments or responding to questions at this stage.”
Carlin also addressed the split in his Instagram Stories in a clip of himself filmed in his car, adding that it “was always going to be a difficult one to talk about.”
“It is true that Angie and I have gone our separate ways but it’s for the best individually. Simply just wanting the best for her and wanting the best for me and being the best version of yourself is very important and, as some people already knew from previous posts, my mental health had taken a bit of a left turn and I simply want to be the best version of myself or be able to give the best version of me to Angie,” he said.
The Bachelorette winner also urged his followers to be kind and recognise that not everything about their lives is on social media, explaining “there’s always other stuff going on.”
“There’s a lot going on in the world right now. There are actually bigger things going on and it’s kind of a shame that we even have to make an announcement about our relationship because truth be told there’s no one else who has to do this in their life. But that’s the nature of being in a show like that and in the public eye,” he said.
Rumours that the couple had broken up first arose in June when fan account Bachie Funny noticed that Angie and Carlin were no longer following each other.
However, Angie slammed the claims calling it a “glitch in the system.”
“Leave it. If you don’t know, you don’t know,” she replied to a comment on the fan account’s post.
She also replied to a fan who said that “if you don’t 100 per cent know, don’t post.”
Another one bites the dust! Angie and Carlin are the latest victims of the Bachie love curse.

Carlin also fuelled split rumours just days later, when he shared a pensive shot of himself fresh after a swim staring into the distance.
“You don’t always need the answers. Live in the moment. Be still. Breathe 🙏🏽,” the cryptic caption read.
Angie and Carlin professed their love for one another in the season finale of The Bachelorette in 2019, leaving runner-up Timm Hanly heartbroken.
Carlin thanked fans for their support, while revealing he and Angie only recently decided to split.
