They’ve only just taken their romance public, but already Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley are facing accusations that they’re merely playing pretend.
Unable to keep their hands off each other whenever they step out together, the new Bachelorette couple spent last week enjoying a loved-up holiday to Port Douglas and Cairns in Far North Queensland.
However, the pair’s over-the-top make-out sessions have only added to theories they’re not genuine, and are just playing up their romance for the cameras.
Some fans claim Ali, 32, and Taite, 28, tried to fuel engagement speculation by being spotted looking at rings at a jewellery store. They even reportedly checked out a local wedding chapel! Taite also shared a picture of a pregnancy test on Instagram, with the results obscured, amid talk he and Ali are expecting.
Woman’s Day has heard whispers the couple might only be staying together for the sake of the survival of the franchise, too. The show’s future was put into jeopardy after Nick Cummins caused major embarrassment for Ten by leaving empty-handed.
Body language expert Holly Bartter also believes Ali and Taite could be faking it. She points out Taite looks “uncomfortable” and doesn’t seem genuine in his feelings towards Ali.
“Taite definitely appears a little more camera-shy and aware of being affectionate in public, looking up when Ali looks up at him and gazing into his eyes,” she said.

But despite the whispers surrounding them, Taite insists his feelings for Ali are genuine and he’s in the relationship for the long haul. “I’m so happy, I found the love of my life,” he gushed in a recent interview.
And Ali has also insisted their romance is the real deal. “We’re very genuine people who are in this relationship and we’re taking it step by step. It’s a real relationship.”
