Ali Oetjen failed to find everlasting love with American star Grant Kemp on Bachelor In Paradise, but she’s ready to give it another go by starring in the 2018 season of The Bachelorette.
The news was announced during the finale of Bachelor In Paradise.
“I have had my heart broken, but I’ve picked myself up and I’m ready to put my heart on the line again,” Ali says of her casting. “I’m absolutely thrilled to start this new adventure.”
“I’m looking for a man who is light-hearted and kind, a genuine and down-to-earth man who will sweep me off my feet and love me for me. And I’m looking forward to offering that love back to him in return.”
While we wait for the blonde beauty to take over our screens, as she hunts for a suitable male in an extravagant mansion, let’s take a look back at some of her most memorable moments in pop culture history and answer the ultimate question: “Who is Ali Oetjen?”
1) Which season of The Bachelor Australia did Ali appear on?
Ali had several memorable moments in the first ever Aussie series in 2013, as she made it to Tim Robards’ top three with Anna Heinrich and Rochelle Emanuel-Smith.
You may remember her for trying to kiss Tim on the first night at the cocktail party, for breaking her leg in spectacular fashion while trying to impress Tim by jumping off a boat, and for hobbling away after being evicted from the series in the second-last rose ceremony.
2) Who has Ali dated since then?
In July 2015 Ali announced that she was engaged to David Waldeck. It’s unknown when the engagement broke down, however, because it wasn’t until she was spotted on set of BIP that the public realised her relationship with Waldeck was over.
She chose to leave for LA with Grant in last night’s finale episode of BIP, but we all know how that went down.
3) What is Ali’s job?
Ali has dabbled in a variety of different careers. Before going on The Bachelor in 2013, she worked as a real estate agent in South Australia. Since gaining a little Bachie fame, Ali tried her hand working in radio. She also shares her healthy lifestyle and fitness regime with fans on social media, making money via advertisements.
4) Has Ali had plastic surgery?
There were some unpleasant comments made about Ali’s appearance by fellow contestants in Paradise, but has the star actually had any work done? According to her, no.
When asked about her changing looks, Ali told Stav, Abbey and Matt on HIT105: “I hadn’t even had Botox in my forehead before.”
Continuing: “Maybe my face isn’t moving cause I’m not reacting to the [other Bachie] girls’ comments.”
Despite not admitting to having any facial procedures, Ali did tell TV WEEK that she had a breast augmentation.
