Ali Oetjen invites drama into her life wherever she goes – whether she likes it or not.
During her season of The Bachelorette Australia, the star has been slammed for kissing several suitors – and has also been blamed for the reality show scoring the lowest ratings yet in its four seasons to date.
But the 32-year-old says she has absolutely no regrets.
“When I entered the mansion, I had the mindset that I’d make the most of every moment and be in every moment,” Ali says.
“When I finished filming, I had no regrets. I didn’t do it for the ratings. I was happy I was myself and that I wasn’t afraid to be myself.”
Perhaps one of the biggest bombshells of this season – and there were plenty – was the news that “Mr Perfect”, Charlie, has a child from a previous relationship.
After making the shock decision to send the 31-year-old Sydney-based builder home last week, Ali has finally broken her silence on the startling revelation.
“I think anything to do with family – and something that’s so close to him – is up to his discretion,” she says.
As for the long-standing rivalry between Charlie and Bill, which dominated most of the series, Ali said she didn’t know the extent of their feud until she saw the drama play out on screen.
“I didn’t realise it was that full-on,” she says.
“I guess they’re both alpha males and wary of each other. But it’s a nice feeling to have two guys fighting over you!”
The Bachelorette Australia airs Wednesday and Thursday, 7:30pm, on Network 10.
