The Bachelor Australia will be premiering on Wednesday, July 31 at 7.30pm.
“You’ve got to give it a go, give it a chance and put your heart out there,” Matt said when he was first launched as the newest Bachelor.
“I’ve got a real ‘do it once, do it right’ mentality so I’ll be making sure I throw myself into it, be vulnerable and enjoy what comes from that.
“It may be an unorthodox way to meet someone, but I think it’ll be a sensational experience and make for a cracking ‘how we met’ story!”
Network Ten Executive Producer of The Bachelor Australia, Hilary Innes, said: “Matt brings spades of old school romance back to The Bachelor. He’s a bachelor with natural charm and intelligence but with a definite twinkle in his eye.
“Matt will be a breath of fresh air to be around. He comes from such an interesting and different world but is still a humble and down to earth Aussie man who really just wants to find the love of his life.”

Online, fans have been obsessing over the 31-year-old already – with many wishing they had signed up to this year’s show – and who could blame them? He’s smart, charming and ridiculously good looking.
No doubt Matt will be a refreshing choice from the debacle that was Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins and to put your mind at ease, we we know for sure that Matt has not only chosen one girl, but he has found ‘The One’!
During his very first appearance on the red carpet at the 61st annual TV WEEK Logie Awards, Matt appeared with the newest Bachelorette recruit, Angie Kent.
And in a chat with TV WEEK, Angie revealed that her comrade was completely loved up!
“I’ve heard this quite a bit as of late,” Angie revealed, while adding: “But Matt has found the love of his life, which I’m so stoked for.” And we are also very “stoked” for this!

In another interview, Matt revealed the attributes he was looking for in a leading lady and we’re so pleased he has found that!
“To a degree, the characteristics [I’m looking for] are things everyone looks for in a partner,” he admitted.
“Someone supportive, compassionate, warm, caring and generous; someone who’s fun and doesn’t mind being a bit silly. They don’t take themselves too seriously and we can just enjoy having a laugh and some fun together.
“I’m looking for a best friend – the same way I’ve seen so many of my good friends find one in their partners.”
Le sigh!
One thing’s for sure – we cannot wait for this season to start!
