Hold on to your Akubras: Your first look at Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins as The Bachelor Australia has arrived!
The larrikin rugby player is starring in Channel TEN’s reality dating show this year, following in the footsteps of TV WEEK Logie Award nominee Matty J.
“I’m really looking forward to throwing everything at this opportunity to finding the one,” the 30-year-old says of his newfound Bachie status.
“The past 10 or so years has been on the road playing rugby or working on my projects, so I’m very excited to be part of a show that is centred around love and good times.”
The network just released five new first-look teasers, which show the star doing things like perching on a large glittering love heart and sitting on a unicorn. You know, classic Bachelor duties.
The hilarious new clips offer a fresh take on The Bachelor, introducing us to ‘The Badgelor,’ if you will. Keep scrolling for your first look at TEN’s refreshing new Bachie!
“This rod and reel is sure to catch a winner,” he remarks in the first clip, where he can be seen fishing for yellow rubber duckies in a bathtub.
In the next teaser, our big ‘ol softie sits on a floating glittery heart.
“Ladies, this Bachelor is looking for two things: Love…” he says, before looking down, “and a ladder.”
Nick dons a perfect half-Bachelor-half-athlete ensemble in the following trailer, combining a classic Bachie suit with his Australian Wallabies rugby attire.
With a rugby union ball in one hand, and a long-stemmed red rose in the other, our boy is ready to go!
“Ladies, I’m looking for love… when I find my pants,” he tells the camera.
Someone needs to hand TEN an award for this next one, where Nick rides a rainbow-haired unicorn. ‘A cinematic masterpiece’ would be one way to describe the below clip.
“Giddy up!” he tells the camera, before joking “What, too much?”
In the final teaser, The Badgelor channels the 1999 flick American Beauty, as he lays in a bed of roses.
With the threat of a leaf-blower looming, he says “Go easy mate! I’m in my birthday suit here.”
After watching those teasers, fans are sure to be more excited than ever for the 2018 season of The Bachelor Australia.
With his quick one-liners and unique Aussie slang, the Honey Badger is sure to be a hit!
